Iāve been waiting patiently myself but didnt want to bother him at this stressful time. Heāll be back soon.
I think Mulcahy was better than Gillane on the day, Gillanes hurley dropping habit is very annoying, itās going to have to be stopped.
The 9s fir the three Limerick half backs is ridiculous, Hannon did ok but the others were below par,
Ya a bit of short term memory loss.
I thought Nash was absolutely awful. 3/10
But Spillane was excellent for most part.
Limerick got 8 x9ās yet Fitzgibbon was arguably best player on field for large periods and only got an 8.
Bizarre journalism
Anyway itās neither here nor there really. But great example as you say about the victory writing the history books
Stuck in traffic in Naas
I saw on bookface that half of Ballysteen are out foreign at a wedding.
Kearney was the best player on the pitch till he faded.

Any journalist that puts a rating besides a lads performance is an utter cunt of a man.
Are these Martin Breheny player ratings you chaps are debating?
Whatever about ratings, I thought the tactical battle was really interesting.
Limerick really struggled with the Cork interplay in the middle third at times, they are great at popping little passes to each other, making little darts into space and getting the score. Coleman, Joyce, Kearney, Fitzgibbon, Lehane & Harnedy all got scores from this. Kearney was the architect but Limerick would generally pride themselves on their work rate in that area but despite plenty of bodies, struggled to impede the Cork game. It wasnāt from lack of work rate but efficiency is key.
But then part of it was due to the fact our wing-backs just sat. They never followed Meade & Kearney and with the Cork half-backs pushing up at times, we were simply outnumbered. But we didnāt give away many goal chances which I presume was the aim. Nothing came through the centre really. Lehaneās goal was a mistake from Morrissey and no one tracked the runner, although it was a difficult shot in the end. I thought we gave Quaid a good chance of saving Kingstonās shot by pushing him just wide enough and Harnedyās chance came from great fielding by Cahalane.
On the other hand, because our half-forwards were deep, we found it very easy to isolate our inside forwards, we created at least 3 goal chances from long, but directed ball in, scoring 1 of those. But we created 4 other goal chances too. Gillane scored 6 from play & set up 2 for Dowling, Mulcahy scored 4 just floating around and won a couple of frees, Flanagan got 1 and set up a couple including a lovely precise pass for the goal. Should Cork have let someone sit to give their full-back line a bit more protection?
Were we to play Clare, weād definitely have to do more to disrupt their build-up play than we did to Cork. We have serious workers to do it. Clare wonāt like to leave their full-back line exposed especially after what Galway did in the first 15.
Galway are a bit less methodical in their approach, they trust their forwards to win primary possession and disrupting that is key. You also really have to watch the likes of Cathal Mannion just floating around, he caused wreck in the first half in the League but we squeezed them out in the second half. Move the ball quickly into space and we have a nice blend of physicality, pace and hurling in our forwards.
If Harnedy scored that goal the ratings would have went a 2 point swing ; Limerick 8s become a six and cork 7s become a 9 .
Player ratings are bizarre .
Like most sports analysis, player ratings are completely driven by who wins
On that, the strong finish from Limerick and the final overwhelming of Cork in extra time is giving people a very skewed view of the match. Truth is we barely scraped a draw and were lucky to get it.
There is some sense in that. Itās all about winning.
The examiner gave his goal to Casey
Yes.
Not really. When a team wins a game by a point or after extra time, analysts go on like the team that won were a much better team, and give a million different reasons why they won and the other team lost when it just isnāt true
The only reason limerick won is because cork collapsed and lost a load of key players to injury. Limerick didnāt play that well.
Limerick finishing with their strongest team helped.
