Thereās some fellas on here would go to extreme levels of mental gymnastics and depth of analysis to avoid giving the credit due to Dowling. Casey in addition made 4 of our 6 scores to equalise.
He set the blaze a heather.
Casey was superb without troubling the umpires much, itās an odd situation but Iāve no doubt whatsoever that Casey wouldāve do more for Limerick than any of Gillane, Flanagan or Mulcahy.
Both Casey and Doeling should have been on shortly after half time on Sunday, it could easily have been the difference but again the victors write the history and Little will be made of it
Agreed. Every game has elements of luck and things that go against you but itās how you react that defines you as a team. Press home advantages when you can and respond to setbacks in a composed manner.
Kinnerk is all about hurling intelligence & game management; any time you hear him speak, thatās what he focuses on. Limerick have come on in that department an awful lot this season in particular.
this a nuisance.
Weāve no opponents to rail into yet as we donāt know them. Itād be foolish to rail into two sets of fans so instead we are nitpicking on a match that finished a half week ago and non existent hype.
The hurling is great.
Clare are a crowd of redneck cunts, fucking yahoos, a sub breed.
The Galway crowd are sound, I love them. South Galway the soundest people you could meet, yet to meet one i didnāt like and theyāre stone mad for porter. Good people. Theyāve good looking women up there too and itās a great town. I wonāt be able to manfacture hatred for them Iād say.
Iām sure il manage anyway!
Is it not just limerick lads pushing this beal bocht??
Yerra two poor teams just playing for a day out
No it isnāt, read the thread.
Cork are not as conditioned as other teams. They have a physio as coach. Physios by nature are cautious. From what I do know I do not think they do enough running thatās suitable to hurling.
If I had reception and/or are bookies to go to on Sunday I would have put 2 or 3k on Limerick. It was a stick up. They are waaaaaay more conditioned than Cork. Cork are not terrible but you can even see by the physiques they are well behind the others.
My theory is its are fear of pushing the envelope. Which is critical to success and true conditioning.
Kearney is not a particularly conditioned chap ever either.
Just as well you didnāt, you would of lost. Twas a draw.
At FT I meant
So you thought it might be a draw after 70 minutes but you were certain Limerick would win after extra time? Or is 2 or 3k a standard size bet for you?
Tipperary led Clare by something like 6 or 7 points, were the better team for 62-63 minutes and would surely have won if the young substitute Jake Morris (might have the wrong name there) had taken that late goal chance instead of hitting the base of the post. Margins have been very fine this year. If Clare had lost that game to Tipperary, which they probably would have had but for that late missed goal chance and exertions of four consecutive Sundayās catching up on Tipperary in last few minutes, Clare were out and Tipperary weee through.
All three teams left have rode their luck to some extent this summer, Clare possibly the most.
Sure you did.
No. I thought at end of normal time it was foregone conclusion. I would have bet on Limerick then.
Would have been biggest bet I ever made
With the state of Cork at the end of normal time it didnāt take a genius to predict the winner. Anything can happen of course but you would need to be a bit senseless to bet on Cork at that stage.
The look of them.
Not to mention their main ball winners all fucked or gone
Without doing a full blown analysis on it Geoff, I would say if you were to go back through the years a lot of the eventual winners rode their luck at some stage or another during their season
