Limerick intercounty hurling fans are obsessed these past few weeks with hype, so much so that the lack of hype or the ignoring of hype is in fact being hyped out if all control.
You cant walk the city today withut over hearing some halwit insist âIts not hypeâ to whoever will listen. The â14 pagesâ as it is now known is a big talking point around the place.
Of course it was hype that bate limerick in '13 and '96 and '94.
The whole of limerick is on the lookout for the hype.

There isnât 6 proper senior teams in Cork.
The only one making an effort are
The genuinely competitive - Sars, The Glen, Erins Own, Imokilly (and they wonât do too much), Blackrock
Fallen giants with tradition but misplaced notions - Newtown, Midleton and The Barrs
Intermediate camps giddy with new profile - Kanturk
The rest pretend to try and/or fall in between dual foolishness

They seem to have a large spread of average senior hurlers. Hence a strong 2nd team but quiten Lehane and they are average
thatâs surprising to me. I know one or two of the lads that play and they are in serious physical condition. Good sportsmen too.
They are poorly coached and mentally weak as a group. Saw them a few times now in last 18 months and not one bit impressed.
Alot of them stand around waiting for the stars to do it.
I know loads of people from Midleton but strangle nobody from the GAA. From outside though something just not right about it.
Think the peak of some of their talent has passed too

The wrong âleaderâ is not strong mentally can have a massive effect.
Most teams are 3-4 very strong characters, 3-4 wishy washy and the rest in between. Takes good leadership to make sure the hey are all on point
