Has anybody factored Paud OâDwyer into this weekend?
I think he has a set against Limerick.
thatâs chilling to the bone that is.
Heâs celebrating getting the game.
Heâll fuck this up for us yet. Mark my words
I think as heâs relatively new to the intercounty roster (only on it a few years and this is the biggest game heâll have been in charge of) heâll be fussy and blow for everything. Not sure who that will suit.
He wasnât great in the club final replay.
he was shocking on the line the last day below in Thurles. Gave 3 line balls to Kilkenny that were Limericks
We only scored two frees that day but it certainly didnât feel like McGrath rode us, the non free in to Donnelly was the only big decision he got wrong imo. He let it flow for both teams.
Would have preferred someone like Horgan here whoâll let a lot go but is generally consistent enough.
you donât want a whistle happy ref playing against Cork.
We play borderline as it is. Horgan would destroy you on his own with frees if he blows for everything.
Analysis of a ref and how they handle things is important too. Certain refs clamp down on certain things, and are more likely to let other things go. No point whinging too much about it.
as long as they are consistent in their application of their interpretation of the rules, thatâs fine.
Itâs the inconsistency would drive you mad.
Yeah, Horgan just doesnât miss. Distance or angle irrelevant - if itâs a free in itâs a point. Heâs a 98% free taker, as good as youâll get.
As you say our full backline tend to sail close to the wind at times, last thing we need is a raft of early frees awarded and seeds planted in OâDwyerâs head.
At the other end Cahalane tends to be a free magnet too and a walking yellow card.
I hope he isnât a talking point either way after it. Let the game be won and lost on itâs merits
Iâve an awful feeling in my waters about him though
I agree, he comes across as a bit of a gom, and giving interviews etc about being awarded the game is not a good sign
I donât agree with this âX doesnât miss freesâ statement. It was said about TJ Reid before they played us, he missed his first. Iâd consider Dowling as good a free taker as any and he missed a few against Clare.
Horgan or anybody could miss frees this weekend, each match takes on a life of its own
A spokesperson for Kildare County Council said: âMotorists should be aware of speed restrictions on the M7 which may result in longer travel times. It is advisable to allow ample time to allow for unexpected occurrences. We regret any inconvenience caused to motorists as a result of the M7 upgrade works.â
Gardai are patrolling the 60km limit with speed cameras between between J8 Johnstown and J10 Naas South regularly due to safety worries.
Ya wonât get anywhere up to 60km in between them
He rode NAP bareback. He may shut down his bookface if he has any sense
Bollocks . He did not ride aNa P . If anything Cuala could feel a bit hard done by . Na p have a fair complaint on the drawn game .
To be honest I think the standard of refereeing has been pretty decent this summer in hurling.
Canât remember a high profile game being decided by a refereeing decision or general performance.
Football is almost impossible to referee in comparison.
Itâs remarkable really, hurling at that level must be bloody hard to ref even before you have fellas cheating to try to gain a match turning advantage
