The allardyce affair goes back a bit futher when he spat the dummy Everton style after Bolton got a result against him with “Long ball tactics”
Like I said already, just keep it quite and worry about football…
name another manager who hasnt had somesort of a spat with a fellow manager. they are all whingebags at some stage giving out about each other. it happens. I dont see how singling out Benitez makes him a worse case. the only one I’d have an issue with was the Everton one.
According to today’s Daily Mirror, Real Madrid have reopened talks with Liverpool and are ready to increase their bid for Xabi Alonso to around 32million.
The Spanish club’s initial offer of 22million was rejected by Rafael Benitez, but they are believed to be prepared to also offer Alvaro Negredo and Wesley Sneijder as part of the deal.
Alonso is hoping that a deal can be struck before Sunday when he is expected to fly out to join the Liverpool squad ahead of their trip to the Far East.
Insiders at the club believe that if a deal can be struck to sell Alonso over the weekend then Benitez will try to complete the 20million signing of David Silva next week.

Graham Hunter was on offtheball last night saying that this lad would be a much better signing for any english club that Huntelaar, much stronger and pacier…Anyone see him play for Almeria?
Xabi Alonso’s time at Liverpool appears to be drawing to a close, with latest press reports saying that he will sign for Real Madrid by the end of the week.
But the Daily Mail are claiming that Rafael Benitez will spend some of his transfer fee on Wigan midfielder Lee Cattermole:eek: and Hull defender Michael Turner.
Cattermole is being valued at 12m - a huge increase on the 3.5m he cost Wigan from Middlesbrough a year ago.
Turner would cost a more reasonable 5.5m, but neither impress the fans who were hoping to see serious bids made for David Silva and David Villa.

12m, for Cattermole? Ah someones taking the piss there. If Pool pay that for him they should torch the place. Its all well and good a club like Man City pissing away an endless supply of money, but for a club like Pool to spend 12m on Cattermole is a joke.
Turner looked alright for a shite Hull side last season, but this is unnerving stuff if I were a Pool fan.
First of all, I would never trust a word the Daily Mail has to say.
That said, Rafa seems obsessed with English players and the Champions League rule to have them in the squad. Spent over the odds to get Glen Johnson because he is English yet turned down the chance to buy Owen for nothing. Don’t know anything about Cattermole or Turner to call them but 12m for a player Middlesboro decided to let go for 3.5m looks ridiculous to me.
Much of Liverpool title hopes for next season depends on whether or not Xabi stays. He is irreplaceable I think and was a huge factor in the challenge last season.
