Liverpool 2008/09
Serves them fuckin right.

Stupid tackle from Lucas who has shown absolutely no form against premiership opposition over the past 3/4 games to justify a place on the subs bench.

Taking off your top striker when your team needs to push on and put the game beyond Wigan.

Taking off your best player when the game goes to 1-1 and heā€™s the only one who can drag your team out of the shit when they really need it.

Giving Robbie Keane 5 minutes to try and make an impact on the game.

Dropping one of your most impressive players this season, the one he tried to sell during the summer. I know thereā€™s a game against Chelsea at the weekend but you have to beat whatā€™s ahead of you first.

That game was massive tonight especially with whatā€™s coming up at the weekend.
Didnā€™t see any of it but would agree with all of that.

Wouldnā€™t be too harsh on the Torres decision given the game at the weekend and the fact that he is is just about back from a hammer injury.

But the decision to take off Gerrard? Couldnā€™t believe it when I heard. Unbelievable.

Fat Frank sent off probably unjustifiably for a challenge on Alonso.

What do Liverpool have now?

Gerrard booked for diving there.

ā€˜He went to ground a litte too easy did Steven there, Martinā€™ said Andy Gray.

Imagine if that was Drogba?

get fucking in there nando !!!

Bosingwa should have gone for that surely.

Anyway - just hold it now.

Get in there!

get fucking in again nando !!!

reilly making up for FFLā€™s red card

reilly you cunt blowing up like that

That is a massive win.

Two goals from Torres as well who I said before is absolutely vital to our chances.

What a fucking player!

Delighted for Benitez, have been a fan of his since his time at Valencia, hopefully the pool can pick up from hereā€¦Scolari will be lucky to still be incharge next seasonā€¦Chelsea need a big shake up, Ballack and Ashley Cole were again mediocre for supposedly world class playersā€¦Anyone else think that since his head injury that Cech is a shadow of the player he wasā€¦Positioning was shocking for the first goalā€¦

Definitely - Cech has gone to fuck. Donā€™t know if you can relate it to the head injury though.

Ballack was woeful - didnā€™t look bothered. They have a lot of deadwood - the likes of Malouda and Kalou are very ordinary.

Before he picked up that injury he was the best in the world IMO, he could well have just lost a small bit of his nerve through it, hasnā€™t been the same since he came back and has conceeded some very soft goals, his mistakes alos cost the Czechs at Euro 2008ā€¦
A shame reallyā€¦another shame is that Pepe Reina has Casillas ahead of him for Spain as he is world class, the best in the premier league by a distance

Tell that to Van Der Sar.

Reina is a better keeper than Van Der Sar.

Van Der Sar is a good goalkeeper, has bags of experience and commands his defence well but for me Reina is in a class of his ownā€¦Very hard to find a weakness in his gameā€¦

Hes not the best at dealing with crosses I think.

Anyway if Gerrard had been sent off for kicking the ball at a chelsea player on the ground it may have been a different game. Liverpool deserved the win though. Can they follow it up is the question that needs answering.

I agree, he needs to command his area better to become a top top keeper

I think he has improved this a lot since he first arrivedā€¦He conceeded a few very soft goals coming for balls he had no right to come for in his first couple of seasons but I cannot remember the last time he conceeded a soft goal like thatā€¦

The best thing about Reina is his ability to create attacks - unrivalled in that regard. He is a proper footballer as well as being a very good goalkeeper.

He played outfield in a pre season game in 2007.

He had a mare at Old Trafford last season but cant think of many mistakes this season. By far the best EPL keeper and in some ways has revolutionised the position. He is some passer of a ball and also acts as a sweeper. It makes sense to have a keeper who is confident on the ball with the amount of backpasses in each game.

Its part of the reason why I reckon Ben Foster will never make it at the top level.
