Liverpool 2008/09

He has a go off the ref when the decision is clearly 100% wrong, like it was on Sunday.

Plus it’s taken for granted that captains have a right to get involved in stuff, especially if they can prevent the other 10 players off their team from collectively intimidating the ref, something Chelsea wouldn’t be the anywhere near the Premiership’s biggest guilty party for.

Or whenever he feels aggrieved i.e. when a foul is given against his team, rightly or wrongly.

Wouldn’t agree with that. When one of his own team clobbers someone he often just walks away from the scene and wipes his snot on his sleeve.

From Fat Franks interview in the Daily Mail. He seems to be the one dragging it up. Came back to bite him in the arse on Sunday.

Sad about his mother and all but is he ever going to shut the fuck up about it.

David Moyes is a small time manager of a small time club…

(From lfconline.com)

The Bitters’ manager has had a whinge about Liverpool ahead of tonight’s FA Cup fourth round replay.

“I think Liverpool have had an awful lot going for them,” whinged Moyes.

"We are whole-hearted but when you get players lying on the floor and waving their hands suggesting cards and the referee is missing challenges, it’s very hard.

"But we will keep going. We won’t be provoked by it. The Everton players have done really well. We will be disciplined but, more importantly, we will keep doing what we have been doing. These boys have been very good of late.
"We thought we had a penalty kick [in the cup game at Anfield] when Steven Pienaar was tackled from behind. Was it much worse than the one Mikel Arteta gave away at Old Trafford?

“There are moments in games when you think it could have gone for you but it doesn’t and that’s it.”

Moyes’ comments make a mockery of his claim that Everton are the club that act with dignity.

I don’t see much of a problem with what Moyes said to be honest. He was pretty respectful towards Liverpool after both recent games and it was Benitez coming out in the aftermath with stuff about Everton having no ambition to come out and play and attack and his ‘one team want to win, the other wants to defend and draw’ comments that seem to have prompted this response from Moyes.

I find Moyes to be an extremely moany cunt but I respect him highly as a manager. That said Benitez was out of order when he said that Everton came looking not to lose. How many times does he set his teams up like that?

Moyes is a whingy little Bollox. He is still sore at the fact that Liverpool, the Champions of Europe were allowed into the Champions league in 2005 after finishing 5th. He is a decent manager though.

Well how else could Moyes respond after both games. Benitez called it as it was, they did come to draw/ play 10 behind the ball, which is fair enough, but dont exalt this holier than thou shite one week then when it suits go on a rant.

Yep, that’s a fair point. I’m probably not exposed to Moyes as much as Liverpool supporters and he does seem like a moany cunt. But your point about Rafa is the key one, he’s consistently set up teams to stifle and keep things tight so he was completely hypocritical in that sense. But most of the managers are blinkered and only see what they want to see so there’s nothing new there.

Like most fans i guess !!

As I just mentioned to Farmer, the Liverpool manager has consistently done this while in charge so he’s being fairly hypocritical, but it’s no big deal. I thought Everton posed an attacking threat on the break in the second game. I didn’t see all of the league encounter.

In the league game they were probably more of an attacking threat as well. Liverpool got a goal out of nothing from Gerrard and despite only having Cahill up top Everton looked the bigger attacking threat.

It is an unbelievable comment from Benitez when you think of it. Moyes has a right to be pissed off. I don’t know why he keeps opening his mouth for to be honest. Let the players doing the talking on the pitch.

Are these interviews that supposedly ‘slam’ the opposition for whatever reason not just big bags of nothing? Or am I missing some deep moral oppostion to playing defensive football in the persons of moyes and benitez? These tirades are utter non-events. I do not understand why people even react to them.

Have to agree with that. Nothing stories and I never understand the fascination with them. You learn fuck all from managers’ interviews - certainly before the game when they say nothing at all other than just bland banality or ridiculous histrionics. None of it is either interesting or reliable.

Anyone got a link to watch the liverpool game tonight?

Dont bother, its shite.

Everton just hit the post. Stevie G off with hamstring twang early doors - it looked precautionary. Lucas just sent off for stupid second yellow.

Some amount of huffing and puffing from liverpool. My God, they are shite.

There’s one team doing all the attcking here, with the other defending and playing for a draw and penalties.
