and agger weighs in with a 30 yd screamer
Liverpool couldnāt have asked for an easier return to action. Blackburn looked totally out of their depth from the start and a touch of class from Torres got the ball rolling again. Itās days like this you can really see how much the team has came on this year. No huff and puff, just comfortably took blackburn apart with no drama. Obviously itās a shame they couldnāt have played like this in January but should they take this form forward they will no doubt have a big say in the league next year as well.
all the goals here
torress with a shout of goal of the season

Anyone know if thereās any tv coverage of the hillsborough commemorations wednesday night?
By the way weāre 30/1 to beat Chelsea 3-0 and 10/1 to go through. Probably as unlikely as the odds suggest but who knows, after Istanbul you couldnāt rule anything out.
Getting close now. Would rank right up there as one of our greatest European nights if they pull it off. Hereās one from the archives:

there will be a collective sigh of relief from the people of Italy if those animals get knocked out tonight
No Italian teams left cornflake.
Why? not as if thereās any chance of Italian clubs meeting them this year.
That video above that WTB posted is shiver down the spine stuff in fairness and Iām not a Liverpool fan. Real Chelsea have no tradition feeling to it, although nice touch at the end by Mourinho as he comes off clapping the fans.
Hard to believe Gerrard wanted to leave after that though.
There has been some strange comments from TFK regulars today. Anyone one for the idiotic pile.
I guess heās referring to the final being on in Rome. NCC?
Funny vox pop clip just there on Sky Sports news.
Fella interviewing Chelsea fans outside Stamford Bridge. They were all giving it the āyeah man Chewsea to win free-niwā and all the usual guff.
The last fella on was a coloured London gentleman with all the patter that entails. He seemed to have an subconscious habit of saying āwhat time is it?ā as a kind of exclamation mark at the end of his sentences, as in 'Gerrard aināt gonna do nuffin man, what time is it? Michael Essienās gonna do 'is Essien fing on āim, what time is it?ā
The smart arse reporter then asks him at the end of his spiel. āWhat time is it anyway?ā. Yer man obviously hadnāt a clue what he meant and said 'What time is kick off?? and started looking at his watch āitās about half three manā.
You probably had to be there.

Iād say Mourinho was much more impressed by Celticās version of it YNWA in Seville. Much more impressive than that one imo.
Take your pick

BENITEZ WON`T DITCH ZONAL MARKING
Chelsea 6/4, Draw 2/1, Liverpool 2/1
Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has no intention of changing the zonal marking system that many have blamed for their Champions League defeat to Chelsea last week.
The clubs meet again on Tuesday night in a quarter-final second leg, with Chelsea seemingly in an unassailable position with a 3-1 lead.
In the first match Liverpool conceded two goals from corners when Branislav Ivanovic produced a pair of towering headers, as the Anfield menās defensive play at set-pieces fell apart.
Benitez said: "We feel we can handle Chelsea in the air. There was a lot of talk last week about our zonal marking system but all the top clubs have conceded about the same from set-pieces this season, it is not just the system that matters.
"And we scored a fine goal from a set-piece on Saturday against Blackburn, and they use man marking. Then I watched Aston Villa play Everton on Sunday and there were six goals and both sides use man marking.
"We are happy with the way we defend, it is all about the quality of players in the end. Zonal marking has been good for us in the past, and it will be good for the future.
āIt depends on the type of player you have. We have used it for five years here and we have not conceded any more than anyone else from set-pieces.ā
gerrard isnt playing
Just heard.
I just heard heās definitely in the team?
