Another league failure would wreck Liverpool lads this summer
Not at all. Nobody expected 97 points. If City win it they will have earned it.
Anyway Liverpool has always been about old Big Ears. That ambition over domestic
leagues is why everybody hates us*
*us
The usuals will be in around “us” which proves the point
Any Liverpool fan I know would take the league over the champions league this season
There would always be lads who value a Munster over an AI
So if you were given a choice this season, Premier league or champions league, you’d take the champions league?
Bobby Firmino not in the squad tonight.
I think this one could be quite hard to take for Liverpool. If they get 97 points and it still isn’t enough, I dont see where they can go from there. There might not be another chance to get close to this city team again for years.
They could try get a 100 I suppose
City have a bit of rebuilding to do, Kompany, Silva, Aguero, Fernandinho, Otamendi are all the wrong side of 30 and they have a fair few very average players like Walker, Delph, Stones, Zinchenko etc
Champions League is hard won. How many do Spurs Arsenal City and United have together.
They have the financial resources
Sturridge and Lovren start
Ox on the bench
You haven’t answered the question, which would you choose?
Premier League all the way but realistically nobody expected Liverpool to win the league this season. They’ve out performed all expectations and will probably finish on 95 or 97 points. It won’t be enough.
The Champions League on the other hand is winnable from here, and not a bad consolation prize
Lot of key personnel in the Manchester City team are over 30 - Kompany, Silva and Fernandinho are all 33, Aguero is 31 in a few weeks time.
So do all the top 6.
Thanks for parroting me.
Correct, keep hearing the poor mouth from Liverpool. Liverpool are paying more in wages to their players than Man City are
You don’t choose destiny. It chooses you.
I didn’t realise that. I know City play a lot more per player annually (about 1m per player more than Liverpool from a recent report) but perhaps Liverpool have a larger squad then if the wage bill is higher. They have been trimming the squad the last few seasons
