I think Michael Cox / Zonal Marking is a bit of an anti-John Giles.
Cox - it’s all about formation/tactics and players are an afterthought at times.
Giles - it’s all about players, Bill. I never bother with tactics or formations.
But Cox’s match analysis on zonalmarking.net is really excellent today.
Nothing too profound but pretty inspirational all the same. While watching that speech live, I said to my match watching partner @ClarkeyCat it was the type of iconic moment that will get replayed years from now any time Liverpool are in a title race or Gerrard is at an event or doing punditry*.
