Liverpool Football Club 2013/14
In simple terms, the fact Chelsea sent a player on loan to Liverpool for the season indicates they didn’t regard them as a credible threat to their chances of winning the league.
much like how they sold Mata to mufc. This title is greater than all others mentioned so far IMHO.

[B]These were the odds back in August.

MANCHESTER UNITED 11-5

MANCHESTER CITY 11-5

CHELSEA 11-5

ARSENAL 10-1

LIVERPOOL 25-1

TOTTENHAM 25-1

EVERTON 250-1

NEWCASTLE 1000-1

ASTON VILLA 2000-1

WEST BROM 2000-1

SOUTHAMPTON 2000-1

SWANSEA CITY 2000-1

FULHAM 2000-1

WEST HAM 2000-1

SUNDERLAND 2000-1

STOKE CITY 3000-1

CARDIFF CITY 5000-1

NORWICH CITY 5000-1

HULL CITY 5000-1

CRYSTAL PALACE 9000-1
I would say it would be up there given the almost unlimited financial resources that are available to City and Chelsea

Last summer alone City spent on transfer fees (disregarding cost of contracts) £103m or net spend of £85m

They finished 17 points ahead of Liverpool

Liverpool spent £45m and net spend of £20m

Can run similar numbers for Chelsea but nobody predicted that Liverpool would even challenge for the title and a fourth place was regarded as unlikely too.
Liverpool’s achievement in winning the league this season will be extraordinary and a nice fuck you to City and Chelsea but let’s get things in perspective. They’ve spent nearly £200m in the last 4 years on players-granted they took a lot in, particularly the £50m for Torres but it’s not exactly a David v Goliath story. Liverpool are the 2nd biggest club in England and have spent accordingly in the last few years-just not on the mammoth scale that City and Chelsea have. A huge amount of this title win has to go to Rodgers who is getting every ounce of skill out of Sturridge, Sterling and Coutinho and then class acts like Suarez and Gerrard doing the business. Up Ireland!

i think it shows how little they rate Moses as opposed to liverpool…how many full league matches has he played for the 'pool ?..

Perhaps and he probably hasn’t featured as much as Chelsea or Liverpool thought he would. Very much a bit part player. But surely, like Lukaku, it was a case of Chelsea hoping their player would play a lot and impress/progress enough to be a worthwhile addition to their own squad next season. I doubt they would have countenanced adding to the squad depth of another club if they considered them a viable title contender.

all this talk of mourinho putting out a second string team on sunday… lampard and mikel can’t play in second leg…salah and matic are cup tied … Oscar and ivanovic will be fresh after not playing last night…schurrle was only on for 15 minutes, Ba about a minute…they have til Wednesday for second leg and its at home … in short, Jose is trying to pull the wool over the poor scousers…

Of course he is - Chelsea have not yet secured qualification for next year’s Champions League which should be his priority for now

perhaps…for the way Rodgers wants to play Moses was a strange one from the start…Moses wouldn’t pass water…head down and shoots from everywhere…

Poor Rodgers will never see it coming, i better drop him a facebook message…

that’s not really his account pal…

how do you think it will go on sunday?..think it will either be a draw or a Chelsea win…a performance like the one Chelsea gave away to city in the league…and then everton will end up winnign the league for Liverpool by beating city…

Unsure… Henderson showed his importane the weekend and Lucas in the middle is just not good enough protection for Gerrard… If Sturridge is fit I think Liverpool will win- I think he will play Raheem at the tip of a diamond like he did against utd and have Lucas and Allen more reserved. Chelsea away was by far the toughest game this season and their midfield were well on top that day… It would mean Coutinho missing out tho… but that all depends on Sturridge. Chelsea have to come out and play tho which is a plus… i’ll go 2-1 but a draw more likely.

They don’t look like regulation corner flags to me.

Looks almost like a replica of Old Trafford. They are fairly restricted design wise I suppose with all the residential build up around the stadium.

There is no doubt where Gerrard stole that ‘go again’ or ‘do it again’ motto from…The Galway Dressing-room during the Connacht Final Replay 1998 at Hyde Park. From 08.10 mins -

That’s not a new stadium - it’s a new stand. When are they scheduling this for?
