Liverpool Football Club 2013/14

Benteke also impressed me any time I saw him but is he consistent enough?.
Up to the end of EPL season Benteke was the third highest goalscorer in 2013 in all the top leagues in Europe. Only behind Messi & Ronaldo

They still owe 15m for him…

My point is yer completely fucked without him…you’ve kinda proved my point there…Everton were shit last season, had no striker choco and still managed to finish in the top 6.as you say Suarez scored a shit load last season and wants away because of the “press” without him and his goals next season the pool will struggle and that my friend is a fact.
Ah this shite is always said when Liverpool sell one of their top players, It was said when we sold Rush, it was said when Fowler and Owen left and it was said when Torres left. But someone always comes in to replace them.

As a Liverpool fan, I am of course sad to see Suarez go. To be honest I don’t know how we managed to get him in the first place. On the back of a very good World Cup, he decided to leave a big club in Ajax where he was winning Championships and competing in the Champions League to Liverpool where he was struggling away just above mid table with the odd Europa League match. I suppose the draw of the Liverpool name just wasn’t enough after all.

I find it funny to hear him talk about his image being ruined when he was the one who bit an opponent, and racially abused another. For those reasons he will not be held too fondly by me although I accept that he was a fantastic player and fitted Rodgers’ plan perfectly. He is no Fowler, Owen or even Torres.

In terms of replacing him we need to wait and see how his transfer develops - for instance how much we get for him. I would love to see us buying a similar type player but can’t think of anyone at the moment. As tazdedub says we’ve lost big players before and they have been replaced and it will happen again.

I think he accepts that he made mistakes, but he is not used to the culture of the British rags nor does he want to be.
The guy gave everything when he played and I wish him good luck if he does go. Liverpool cannot give him what he wants and a talent like that deserves to be at the top.

Anyway, it is all half truths and misquotes at the minute. He is back in Uruguay and when the skysports ‘breaking news’ headline broke earlier claiming he wants to leave, it was 8 in the morning. I doubt he was releasing or giving many interviews at that hour. He has, however, been linked with Munich, which I don’t see happening, but his agent is Pep’s brother, and maybe this crafty bugger is up to no good.

I’d be going back to Holland or indeed Belgium in looking for his replacement. You’d pick someone up there for roughly around the 15-20m mark and still (hopefully) have a bit to strengthen other area’s.

Wilfried Bony was heavily linked for a while -

The club have probably been prepared for this since the bite anyway, so our romp to the league title should still be on course, provided we land our targets.

Good player but I think he is no loss. Too much time and energy indulging a guy who has no concept of how to behave.

Should pick up Torres on the cheap, aswell as someone like Benteke, Michu or Ramirez and still have change for a couple of decent young lads and a centre half

Besides being factually incorrect, that is woeful.

Liverpool reafirming their stance that he is not for sale and that they expect him to honour his contract.

All this is part of trying to maximise the amount of money they get for him one would feel.

carryharry why are you agreeing with ChocolateMice’s post?

Would you take a player plus cash deal? And what player?- Not that I can see any of them wanting to come to a team who are not in the CL.

Because he is right. o_O

Yep - if he wants to go then no point trying to keep him. Just get the max amount of money. In fairness a lot of clubs would be very interested, despite his issues. In fact, he might thrive in Spain without the British Media and soccer public tripping over themselves to get outraged at every perceived indiscretion

Gareth Barry could soon be available

He’s coming across like the Dick everyone knew he is bar the Liverpool fans

Suck my cock cock suckers

Why? Because he is one of the best players in the world and wants to play in the champions league?

Liverpool should go for Muriel.
