Liverpool Football Club 2017/18

Ox will miss the rest of the season, and the World Cup.

He has a ā€œknee ligament injuryā€ but the club havenā€™t elaborated any further.

These are career moments for any player to miss.

Iā€™m devastated for him - heā€™s a brilliant player and a lovely, lovely lad.

Heā€™s a good lad.

Posting a social media update with an accompanying picture of him on the stretcher is a lovely touch.

No, it was the kind words for the Cox family.

Social media teams these days arenā€™t up to much

Thatā€™s not a stretcher. Itā€™s a shield.

Eamon Dunphy knows the score.

What did he say

Presumably he said Real won 2-1

Liverpool will bate both of them with their cap.

The attack on the City bus would have put the Roma fans on edge to expect trouble

Romaso defence is absolutely muck. Theyā€™ll have to tighten their belts for the second leg.

Would you fuck off :joy:

Ah weā€™ll bate Roma handy, donā€™t worry lads.

We.?

I knew some bollix would try pull me on that.Waiting for it.

Great day when we win it.

Are any Liverpool fans travelling to Rome next week? Youā€™d really want your head examined if you were.

About 5,000 away fans ya.

When did the rot set in for Italian football?

Italy has a football history and culture which very few can match, but some time around the late 90s they got complacent.

They failed to tackle their hooligan problem, they found themsleves with a load of stadiums which were mostly newly built or renovated but which quickly became outmoded, they fell behind in terms of youth development and they failed to sell their club game abroad like England and Spain did which meant the worldā€™s best players stopped going to Serie A. The crowds drifted away as a result of all these.

All these problems have a long lag time to become properly apparent and the cracks still hadnā€™t properly set in by 2006 when they still had a really good generation of players and won the World Cup, but itā€™s been downhill ever since.

All these problems are fixable with a bit of will, but bar Juventus which remains a very well run club, the will to tackle these problems just doesnā€™t seem to be there in Italian football, which is a dreadful pity.
