Porto are a European powerhouse - currently devastated with injuries. Liverpool got a lucky break last night.

They are not the last team Liverpool will embarrass in Europe this season*

*it may well be themselves

They’ve a great team, pity the fans don’t have a bit of faith, talking up Porto as a team to be really feared over two legs was a joke.

at least they aren’t murdering people

Yet.

Why can’t you just revel in a great night for Liverpool, anyone who puts 5 past European giants Porto is a real contender

You’re relatively new so may not have been around when @Nembo_Kid posted but Nembo didn’t think Klopp deserved a higher wage than Brendan. He reckoned Liverpool under Klopp were no better than under Rodgers. Rodger’s best result away from home in the Champions League as Liverpool manager was a draw against Lodogorets. Klopp had a 7-0 away win which is on a par with the point in Bulgaria but I think the 5-0 away win against a two time Champions League winner might just outshine Brendan’s best result. I wonder would Nembo still argue that Brendan is a better manager than Klopp.

@Nembo_Kid also reckoned about a week before Coutinho left that Liverpool wouldn’t be selling their top players anymore

The timing for the rebrand was very handy on a number of fronts,
Now for the hilarious bants.

It is more successful. Losing is not success.

@Nembo_Kid thought losing was success once it involved Tyrone

Lots of managers treat the league cup as a mickey mouse competition and play second string players - But now it’s far more important to win the league cup than reach the quarter or semi finals of the CL – teams should give up trying to qualify for the CL and put everything into winning the league cup…

You’re answer to closing the financial gap to financial dopers like Chelsea and City is to ignore the financial incentives that the Champions League offers and focus on the League and FA cups? You think Liverpool will be able to afford and attract quality players with this strategy?

You have done it now…

Prepare to spend an afternoon arguing with a master(de)bator

Did he?

I thought he was vocal that trophies were a measure of success. Mickey Harte is going for three in a row Ulster titles this year.

Is winning a national title in athletics better than coming 4th in an Olympic final.

@Nembo_Kid is frighteningly insular, the same rules don’t apply at all
