I was thinking that too. Most Spurs fans are happy to be out of the League Cup but still have had to endure all the jibes about Colchester (even though it’s no disgrace drawing at Layer Road).
This is an ingenious way of exiting the League Cup on the back of a win and avoiding all the fixture congestion headaches it causes for a threadbare enough squad.
