Liverpool football Club 2019/20 - Champions

Yep, ā€œHe occupies space as a false number 9ā€, superfans line.

Mitrovich would have more than 4 goals in this Liverpool team with Robbo and TAA putting those crosses in.

Andy Carroll should have been kept then in that case.

Is this the same Aldridge that @mikehunt thinks is some sort of football sage?

@mikehunt wants to revert to lump it up to the big full forward

The same Aldridge who gave it loads back in 1996 about how he wasn’t granted an interview for the vacant Ireland job at the time yet it was then discovered that he didn’t turn up for the interview!

No, they got 25m for Carroll, I’m not sure when Aldo mentioned getting Mitrovich but would it have been after Fulham were relegated and could have been bought on the cheap? Liverpool have done quite well from purchasing players from relegated clubs.

I think it’s fair to say that John Aldridge is a bit of simpleton

Superfans saying how Firminho is one of the world’s best and then using the likes of Mitrovich and Andy Carroll to put him in a good light…

5 goals in 12 games for a club that was relegated compared to a player with 4 goals in 17 for a team top of the league by 10 points.

The only thing Aldo got wrong is that with those stats Mitrovich would be a starter, not a Plan B option.

Easy do all the scoring when you’ve a bunch of donkeys around you that don’t know where the net is.

Firmino, on the other hand, has star players all around him.

It’s odd that they’re doing so well even though he’s so poor, particularly when only 4 players have played more minutes than him. It would seem a bit strange for Klopp to drop the player who has the most assists though

Firmino’s form is somewhere in the middle of what’s being said here… He could honestly do with a month off. He’s had a serious amount of football over the last three years and while the other two up top have as well, you could argue Firmino’s role has been far more attritional… Particularly in the previous two seasons.

He really opens things up for the attack tho… And he can be frustrating at times by not doing the easy thing but he’s very clever in drifting into space which not onky dictates the pass coming up the field but also the space up top for the other two. He’s also a great defender and breaks up a lot of play in the opposition’s half… He looks tired tho, as does Salad.

Liverpool need to pick up a couple of lads in the Christmas window, squad players will do. It seems like any three lads will do for midfield but if the wing backs, big virge or the front three get injured they are in trouble.
He’s trying to rotate it a bit to be fair to him but there’s a big drop in quality behind the first 11

What realistic target would you prefer to see up front?

There’s a couple of young lads on the verge of the squad… He should be giving them the last 5 minutes in games to start properly blooding them in.
