Not sure are u old enough to remember but conceding a corner kick prior to his arrival was akin to conceding a penalty kick. Not only did he keep them out he used to score a few as well.
Yeh man. I’m old enough to have suffered through Piechnik, Ruddock, Babb, Kvarme, Harkness. Hyppia and Henchoz flanked by Babbel and Carragher was the first decent defence in a decade

While Gomez was erratic when he first came back from injury he’s returned to a very dependable back-up / rotation player. A good decision to give him a new contract
