Liverpool Football Club 2022/23

He was in his hole, took him something like 18 or 19 games to open his Ireland account, seem to recall it was against Malta in the final Italia 90 qualifier. Say what you like about Jack’s gameplay, they still created plenty chances.

It took him that long because he was having balls hoofed up to him from the halfway line and spent most of his time in the channels and not even near the box, unless it was for a corner. He was far from shite, even if it did take him a bit to open his account.

He was shite.

You made a generalisation and now feel stuck in it. Its TFK, I get that. You’re still wrong though.

I watched the games mate, he was shite

Alridge gave it loads once about how he was not offered an interview back in 1996 when McCarthy was appointed to replace Jack and how he deserved one.

The FAI responded to say that he was offered one but that he didn’t turn up.

Tweedle dum and Tweedle dee

Perry Taylor. My mate was at Tranmere at the time. Said Aldridge bullied the Irish lads too but nothing like what was done to Taylor.

He was far from shite. Paul Butler was shite.

David Kelly had a far better goals to games ratio playing the same position.

Thats agreed. And wasn’t what was being debated.

If anyone thinks Aldridge was shite should take a look at the likes of Parrott and Connolly.

Hope the Glazers take us over, they seem to have endless money.

Aldridge was top scorer in the first division in the late 80’s. He was a brilliant goalscorer. He did it in Spain too with Sociedad. He’d walk in this Irish team

He was a prolific scorer. You’d love to have him now.

Scored 19 for Ireland in probably his last 40ish games after the barren spell at the start.

50 league goals in a little over two seasons playing for a very good Liverpool team. If Rush hadn’t come back, he’d have got a few more seasons there banging them in

A cracking header too against Mexico on the biggest stage.

Everything about this is brilliant
