Liverpool Football Club Season 2012/13

Crucial season ahead as far as the long-term direction of the football club is concerned and last season’s progress under the King needs to be followed up.

Brendan Rodgers hasn’t done much to indicate that he’s anything other than the latest flavour of the month, and there’s no doubt we should be aiming higher, but an Irishman would be a natural fit as manager for Ireland’s favourite Barclays Premier League™ club and if he is appointed I’ll be giving him my full support.

Let’s hope the situation is sorted by the end of the week.

A proud Northern Irishman is how Rodgers refers to himself as. His pretty recent underwhelming stints at Watford and Reading seem to have been forgotten about

Pretty sure I heard an interview with Rogers on newstalk a while back where he put them right about him one day managing the ROI. Said he saw himself as Norn Iron and would one day wish to manage them and not the ROI and that his son played with the ROI due to them asking but that he may consider switching to Norn Iron. Prob online somewhere still.

Well at least that is some comfort if he does get it.

Martinez the manager of Wigan Warriors has turned the Liverpool job.

Give that another go…

You heard me

Brendan Rodgers meeting with them now. I wonder will they be able to convince him than Liverpool is a bigger job than managing Welsh club Swansea. This is the same fella who flopped at Watford and Reading.

Fenway Group not exactly covering themselves in glory here … :frowning: :frowning:

bill james will be on his way as director of statistics…

Telegraph reporting that there is to be no Director of Football appointed and Rodgers is to be given sole charge.

He’ll be gone by this time next year and ye will be back looking another failed manager…

Martinez was never actually offered the job according to sky sports. I’d say Dave Whelan fucked that one up for him.

Rodgers is a massive risk

Who sent you that telegraph bro?

Flano

I got a telegraph from iamthegaffer saying there is to be no scripts on the night. That goes for everybody.

Done deal according to BBC, 3 year contract.

As someone else put it, it is either a massive gamble or Rodgers was hired as a yes man along with a DOF.

I wouldnt mind if he brings Sigurdsson in, he would be a major upgrade on Henderson and at the same age.

Welcome aboard Brendan!

Didnt Sigurdsson just sign a contract with Swansea?

So Liverpools owner ran Kenny out the door for…Brendan Rogers.

This should be fun.

He hasn’t signed yet… and as far as I know, Rodgers was one of his main reasons for staying on, so naturally, 2+2 =5 !

Well done Liverpool. Well done Brendan Rodgers.

It looks like we will be going all guns blazing to retain the Carling Cup next year
