Liverpool v Cardiff City - Carling Cup Final

The manager should have been strong and told Miller he wasn’t taking a penalty. Two huns have missed penalties so far.

Yessssssssssss

What a shit penalty shoot out

The Gerrard family didn’t cover itself in glory in that shoot out.

Kenny Misser, FOAD.

Are you watching Manchester :pint:

Charlie Adams was shocking.

It’s just struck me that KKKenny will probably now consider this a successful season.

Craig Bellamy was a class act there throughout. A true gent.

Carragher’s just taken exception to Andy ā€˜I’ve got 8 phones’ Burton asking him if this was the start of his farewell.

Burton: What was going through your mind at 2-2 when they equalised?

Dalglish: It was 2-1 and then they equalised.

Such an unnecessarily spiky individual, even though Burton’s obviously an idiot.

An incredibly emotional day on every level for me. I don’t really know what to type at this stage.

But let the fact speak for itself. King Kenny was brought back to bring trophies back to Anfiled. And he’s done it. Our first trophy in six years and a day for all LFC supporters to treasure. We’re back.

Congrats to Liverpool on a battling draw with a team who have been underwhelming in the division beneath them.

Didn’t even realise this two bob game was on today. Congrats to Liverpool anyway, I suppose Dalglish will feel all that millions of pounds he’s squandered on average players was justified now.

Great win for us today.
Great for Kenny to stick to those who have questioned his transfer dealings so far.#
He’s now the most successful manager since the Rafa Benitez era.

King Kenny’s greatness as a manager is demonstrated by the fact that he was the only manager to get the best out of Faustino Asprilla in Europe. King Kenny’s Newcastle destroyed a particularly strong Barca side 3-0 with an Asprilla hat-trick. He is the King.

I suppose United will be able to bring back the Europa League Channel 5 chants back next season now.

I’m actually struggling to think of one we’ve lost. The only one I can think of off the top my head is the Dubai Champions Cup clash against Celtic in April 1989. That was a bitter one for us to lose but it was one I was thrilled we won. That was of course the first of two memorable Celtic-Liverpool clashes in that month, however nobody knew that the second one would happen until later on.

They lost to Northampton a couple of years back in the league cup

Good to see Gerrard (Steven) getting in some practice at missing penalties before the summer.

He’d want to be more precise in missing the target though, it took a great save from the former United youth keeper to keep it out.
