Can somebody please clarify the following:
My father is fretting about whether his property tax is paid or not. He rang up the Local Property Tax Helpline in November to arrange a “Single Debit Authority” transaction. The person on the line said that the transaction would not go through until March 21st.
A few days ago when I used his details to log into the Local Property Tax website, I found contradictory statements. It says on the main page when I log in: “No further action necessary for this year”.
When I click on the “View Payment Summary” tab, it says “Amount Paid - €405” with the date March 21st, 2014.
However when I clicked on the “View Property History” tax, it indicated there was still a balance of €405 due.
I find this contradictory and confusing.
I’ve waited on the Local Property Tax helpline numerous times and can’t get through.
Is the tax paid or not?

Check bank account for 21st March and transaction should be listed.
Mine was anyway.

The bank will probably usher him to a machine and tell him work away. They don’t have time to be dealing with people these days.

I completed a return for 2014 in November, opted to pay by the debit card on my current account and the LPT page tells me I have no further actions. However the money has not been taken from my current account to date and I have received no correspondence by email or post. I await developments.
Would you not get Manuel to accompany him to the bank?
