It’s up to us to blow the title race wide open next Friday night.
League is almost over already. Derry are handy but don’t have the sauad for it.
City have completely dominated the resukts with dundalk for a while now
Ah jaysus, it’s way too early to be saying anything like that; Cork look a bit better this season but have consistently dropped points against teams they should be beating over the past few seasons. Even last year when Dundalk started dropping points, Cork couldn’t capitalise.
And of their new signings, McCormack is quality and Delaney looks decent but Keohane was definitely the weak link today.
Dundalk will settle in time, and are likely to improve as the season goes on. And Derry look a lot better this year, although who knows how the loss of McBride will affect them.
It’s only 6 points though.
Today’s other results.
Pats 2 Shamrock Rovers 1
Drogheda 0 Bohs 1
Shams in free fall as Pats get their first win of the season. Drogheda will be battling relegation all season as Bohs rather surprisingly go 4th.
All teams just need a bit of confidence and momentum.
It is crazy to call it, but at the same time Dundalk will definitely drop more points this year against “weaker” teams. They have lost that bot of oace and lethalness that set them apart.
Sligo beating Harps in the North-East derby.
Harps equaliser.
Cabo beat Cobh 4-1. That’s some win for them.
Wexford have a diligent bunch of young chaps but they’ve no real attacking threat. Shelbourne could be a few goals up but it’s 1-0 at half time. What do you think @Matty_Hislop?
Conan Byrne scored from inside his own half for Pat’s away to Bohs tonight. Clip doing the rounds on twitter - very impressive strike.
Wasn’t able to make it tonight chief, but a great result for the Reds.
was out in Tallaght with @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy tonight where i was delighted to witness an excellent game of football as Rovers beat Finn Harps 3-2
this was wonderful game with a cracking second half, Rovers looked to be cruising at the half with 2-0 lead but Finn Harps came back inspired by a glorious display by Paddy McCourt.
McCourt looked disinterested at times but with around half an hour to go just started to play, his balance and movement is a joy to watch, he has no engine at all but he was head and shoulders above anyone the park, Harps brought on Eddie Dsane and himslef and McCourt ripped Rovers apart bringing it back to 2 all, McCourt chipping in with a free kick.
Simon Madden scored a great winner for Rovers with a sidefooted looping volley ,
Harps will be disappointed as they were the better side
it was a wonderful evening and a thoroughly enjoyable spectacle
the knowledgable crowd in the west stand were appreciative of McCourt and were sympathetic of the passion showd by Ollie Horgan compared to the nervousness of Bradley in the home dugout
i was seated next to a man and his grandson ( 11/12) and we had a fine conversation, there is a great love for Rovers amougst the fans, the knowledge of the players and the dedication of their supporters is something i am envious of,
it would almost suck you in, thoughts of Anfield or the crucible theater ( cc @Sidney) were in my head tonight as i sat with the locals, they appreciate and know football,
i didnt expect 5 goals tonight, i didnt know McCourt would put on such a show, but im glad i went
@Bandage
ure in at the deep end there
first divison football is tough going on the eye
Great stuff mate.
Not sure about Bradley
Bradley is a tool.
Great to see Provo Pat bang one in.
One of Ireland’s greatest.
war criminal gone
Great stuff
Close this thread. City have it won.
They could have it done with 7-10 games to go i predict.
did you predict it at the start of the season?
