Barcelona - Real Madrid [Sky Sports]

19:45
AC Milan - Internazionale [ESPN, Setanta Ireland]

19:45
FC Porto - Sporting

20:00
Marseille - PSG

Cracking night’s football in store.

Not to mention Brady v Manning at 4.25pm.

Real team: (Ozil wins the battle with Modric for the #10 role)

Casillas;
Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo;
Xabi, Khedira;
Di Maria, Özil, Cristiano
Benzema

Barca’s team - impossible to know how they’ll line up. Song was expected to be the other centre back so might be Busquets dropping back there or there is some talk of a 3-4-3.

Valdés;
Alves, Mascherano, Busquets, Adriano;
Xavi, Fabregas, Jordi Alba;
Pedro, Messi, Iniesta

The benches:

BCN: Pinto, Montoya, Bartra, Song, Sergi Roberto, Alexis, Villa.
RM: Adán, Coentrao, Kaká, Essien, Albiol, Modric, Higuaín

Looking at the teams out tonight Madrid seem to have a much better balance.

God bless you Jose.

They do indeed. And probably a better bench too.

Where have all the diehard barca and madrid fans gone?
This place was clogged up with threads full of lads proclaiming their love for either team a good week before each meeting.
I’m surprised at the quiet build up to this considering it could be a precursor to civil war in Spain.

Have hardly watched any Spanish football this season but where have Madrid deployed Modric this season? I thought the reason they bought him was to play him in a deep role similar enough to Pirlo/Xavi but seemingly he’s in direct competition with Ozil which seems strange to me.

Not a diehard.

Barca starting to get a foothold here

Keep some updates coming please as Im going to miss at least the first half of this.

Very slack defending there. Could Benzema have taken a touch? had plenty of time

You mean this fixture is no longer flavour of the month?
Fair enough.

Im watching a stream here that has a septic commentating and a geordie and a kraut sidekicking.
The geordie accent is shit thick and he wont shut up.

benzema is ‘big benz’
ramos got plenty of meat and potatoes on the header and left valdes stranded like a big ficus tree

:lol: :lol:

One nil Madrid. Ronaldo with a front post drive

Real lead through a tidy nearside finish.

Did the commentator just call Messi, “the ultimate no.10”? :rolleyes:
