Was actually talking about doing this earlier today with my life partner. We initially spoke about it a couple of months ago, but forgot about it. So it’s a “take away” for me to follow up on. My sister was making a will some years back and asked me if I was happy to be named as the person who’d take custody of her children if herself and her husband died. I don’t think she was planning anything sinister, more formalising what would happen if they were in a fatal accident. Imagine having so few options that you’d ask me.

Also what’s the gig on wedding/engagement rings? I paid top dollar for hers and her sister has already ‘claimed’ the rings if she goes (her only sister and wife is godmother to her daughter) but it doesn’t sit easy with me at all.

I’m a bit of a communist about inheritance nobody should get fuck all out of a will - you didn’t earn it. Wouldnt turn down money if it came my way but would never fall out with anyone over one either.
