Man Utd versus Liverpool

A few things on that beautiful 90 minutes:

 • Torres is the best striker in the world by a considerable distance. Once you have him in you team you always have a chance. He won the game today for Liverpool.

 • QUOTE]

The thing about Torres is that he always seems to have so much time. like watching in slow motion. Super. No question when the post mortem of why the Pool don’t win the league this year is done, Torres’ injuries will be the biggest reason.
The biggest reason why Liverpool wont win the league is because their squad pales in comparison to that of United’s. Torres injuries have blunted their goal threat but they maintained a title challenge for a long time this season without him. Benitez made a huge mistake signing Robbie Keane in the summer for a combination of reasons. The main one being it broke up the successful Gerrard Torres axis that shined towards the end of last season and looks on fire now again.

Torres is an outstanding finisher which is the best attribute a forward can have. I think his touch and hold up play can still improve though.

There are a lot of players struggling this season after a long European championships last summer. Fabregas, Torres, Ballack, Tuncay have all had injuries.
Bet you logged on to this thread with the sole intention of looking for an instance, any instance, where I referred to Liverpool as ‘us’ or ‘we’ so you could have a pop for the sake of it.

Well done - you have had your wish. Gobshite.
alright son…relax.

Would you minding sharing with the group why you decided to follow Liverpool despite the fact you were not born there?

For fuck sake, this argument again. Farmer tell them where to go…

Agree with most of the thread. Torres is the best forward in the world and he wasn’t even fully fit the other day. Gerrard gave the ball away a lot as usual, but his game is all about having a big impact on big games and he had that.

It does amuse me when Irish people refer to an English team as “us” but I think the phrase “we’ll take that all day” was just referring to Liverpool fans, ie. “2-1 up, us Liverpool fans will take that all day”. A typical Irish person’s idea of being a fan is probably quite different from an English person’s idea, but in fairness to farmer I don’t think there was any harm in the use of the word “we” in this context.

The premiership as it is wouldn’t exist if people didn’t think like that.

I don’t quite follow, WTB…

Just caught myself saying “didn’t realise we were away to Spurs next week” oh well I’ve been to two games this season, probably 2 more than most Premiership fans on here

Fanbases, money etc.

Fair enough. Maybe we’d all be better off though.
