AC Milan have confirmed Massimiliano Allegri as their new coach
O’Leary will be coaching Cannavaro next season.
Former Leeds United and Aston Villa manager David O’Leary has been appointed the new manager of United Arab Emirates club Al Ahli.
O’Leary has been out of work since leaving Villa Park in July 2006 and has now taken a job that both Harry Redknapp and Mark Hughes have been linked with in recent months.
O’Leary, who steered Leeds to the Champions League semi-finals in 2001, will manage Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro at the ambitious Pro League side.
Mark Bell, the club’s sporting director, said: “We can confirm that David O’Leary, a former Premier League manager with Champions League experience, has agreed to become the new coach of Al Ahli Football Club.”
O’Leary, Arsenal’s all-time record appearance holder was appointed Leeds manager in 1998 and established the club as a force in the Premier League, even topping the table going into the new millennium.
But the club collapsed under financial mismanagement and O’Leary departed before their relegation in 2004.
Martin Jol will be the new Fulham boss
Looks like he won’t be now. He was leaving Ajax because of a dispute over transfer funds but that seems to be sorted now.
Thats a fair mess, Al Fayed will be seething, he was even rumoured to have tapped up Keane and all.
Rocko proved right on this one, Jol has confirmed he won’t be leaving Ajax.
The Guardian are reporting that Mark Hughes has been appointed as Fulham manager.
When i clicked on this thread i was expecting that Rocko had been sacked as TFK astro team manger.
What a move from Fulham.
Mark Hughes has won 80 of his previous 202 (39,6%) matches as a manager in the Premier League.
Hughes will always be a prick for selling Richard Dunne at City. Then to replace him with Joleon fucking Lescott…
Coppell is gone from Bristol after just over 3 months.
Says he’s lost the passion for the job and the game and is retiring from football management.
The Great One has indicated his interest in the Aston Villa post.
I presume this is a done deal now, who can turn down The Great One?
Life is Life.
Who are you talking about?
Maradona I believe. I couldn’t really see Randy Lerner going for that one though!
There is truly only one Great One. El Diego.
Life is life, la la la la.
Gary Speed is set to replace Kevin Blackwell at the Blades.
West Limerick man Kevin Blackwell is not very good at staying in jobs.
True, however he seems more than adept at getting jobs which is handy.
Pardew has gotten the bullet from Southampton. Strange enough given they just won 4-0
Alan Curbishley is now the front runner for the Villa job
Won’t happen.
My source says Sven or Houllier, there is a a severe shortage of good managers out there.
