Michael O’Neill has clearly been reading from the Nigel Worthington ‘how to entice nationalists onboard’ handbook. Utterly bizarre comments yesterday. What an idiot.
Neil Warnock has been fired by QPR.
Delighted, he always struck he as a horrible cunt.
+1.
Had a go at United when they didnt beat West Ham back in 2007 when Sheffield United went down despite the fact they only had to draw at home to Wigan but got beat.
Steve McClaren is the new manager of FC Twente again.
Warnock may be a cunt, but he was honest at least. Would take no notice of what a relegated manager says, you’re bound to be really frustrated looking to blame someone.
ANyway, QPR’s expectations are a bit much one would suggest. What did they expect?
I always found him a little amusing if a bit cuntish on occasion. Never minded him all that much as others.
Fernandez isnt a fool, he’ll be fairly hands on with QPR I feel, I always felt Warnock wouldnt be a good fit with a man like him. Will be interesting to see where they go from here.
Mark Hughes is in for the gig
Of course he is, the horrible creature of a man.
Loved him as a player, knob end of a manager.
I found Warnock amusing sometimes but he did come across as a little Englander an awful lot of the time and he could get very annoying. Still I think he was harshly treated. QPR are another club that seem to believe they had a divine right to be better than they are. Their ticket pricing strategy for this season reflected that same warped view.
I get the impression things may be different there under Fernandez, but wouldnt hold my breath just yet on that one.
Taraabt will be ovejoyed with the news no doubt.
Think i read yesterday that they have taken just 2 points from their last 8 games. He can have no complaint if that is the case
Of course he can, he’s got a limited squad, and they did play Liverpool, United, Arsenal in that run.
Other managers have got away with far worse records, Martinez at Wigan for one. Now i believe he was never going to be there long term, but was suited to getting a team to scrap to get up. His ways wouldn’t attract top players really. I’d suggest they were happy enough for the bad run to use as an excuse and now hope someone else will keep them up with a new voice and a change in attitude and that they’ll survive and rebuild next year.
There isnt a more despicable creature on the planet than Pier Morgan I’d say.
Ah where would the game of football be without characters like Barton to liven things up?
Confirmed. 2 & 1/2 year deal. 20M kitty.

Oxford City have sacked their manager for making ‘homophobic’ remarks on twitter about some queer rugby player.
No it was their striker http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/11/oxford-homophobic-tweet-gareth-thomas
Oxford City have sacked their striker Lee Steele for posting a homophobic remark on Twitter about the former Wales rugby playerGareth Thomas.
Mike Ford, manager of the Southern Football League Premier Division club, said the decision was taken in response to Steele tweeting about Thomas’s appearance in Celebrity Big Brother. Steele wrote: “I wouldn’t fancy the bed next to Gareth Thomas #padlockmyarse”.

Ford told the BBC: “On this occasion Lee’s had to pay for his error of judgment. He’s made a homophobic comment, [but] that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s homophobic.”

A club statement said: “The Oxford City board have decided to release Lee Steele in view of his recent comment via social media which is considered seriously contrary to the ethos of the club.”

Steele, 38, had a long career in the Football League playing for clubs including Shrewsbury, Oxford United and Leyton Orient, and was part of the Brighton squad that won the old Division Two in 2001-02.

Thomas first spoke publicly about his sexuality in 2009, saying: "I’ve been through all sorts of emotions with this – tears, anger and absolute despair. I wasn’t sure if I ever wanted to let people know and, to be honest, I feel anxious about people’s reactions and the effect it might have on my family.

“It’s been really tough for me, hiding who I really am and I don’t want it to be like that for the next young person who wants to play rugby or some frightened young kid.”

Reacting to the sacking, the Justin Campaign against homophobia in football said: "While it is never pleasing to see someone lose a position in a club or company, we fully applaud the club’s decision to terminate the player’s contract.

"For far too long homophobic comments like the ones Steele made have been defended using the erroneous argument that such remarks as simply harmless ‘banter’. However, we no longer accept racist ‘banter’, and likewise, we must never accept homophobic ‘banter’.
“Oxford City’s brave decision shows us that things are, slowly, moving in the right direction and that football is starting to take homophobia, biphobia and transphobia seriously.”
