Managerial Merrygoround Thread

That’s just ridiculous

Shrewd marketing move. They’ll shift a fair few replica shirts in France on the back of this. All about spreading awareness of the brand.

Pellegrino was officially announced as the next Valencia manager at the weekend. Former coach Unai Emery will be moving to forum favourites Spartak Moscow in July.

every time I see this thread bumped…

O’Neill will never be back mate - you might as well accept it and move on

And for that we will be forever grateful.

Drop the facade mate, any club who had Martin O’Neill longs to have those days back, the man is a legend. The only reason Villa can’t admit this is because they have the ignominy of driving the best thing that happened them in recent years out of their club. Must be hard to deal with.

O Neill walked when things got tough. Like he always does . He brought the club to the point of bankruptcy first though…as he always does.

O’Neill left because he was not appreciated, delusional Villa fans are to blame - it’s the likes of you and KIB man that are responsible for the state of your soulless British football club.

I honestly think it wont end well for MON at Sunderland. Short ‘apparently’ has said that he needs to sell before he can buy. Sunderland is a lot of debt anyway because of their revolving door policy under Keane and Bruce.

MON has brought in Wayne Bridge on loan and tried to get Kevin Davies. Sunderland have finished the league badly 2 wins from 11.

Does that strike you as a man that has improved as a manager?

He is unable to learn from his mistakes. Getting the best out of cloggers like Gardner, Cattermole, Lennon, Agathe, Elliot, Guppy etc is his strongpoint. Give him money at your peril.

And he still doesn’t get it.

Luis Enrique appears to have told his players he’s finished at Roma. Difficult first proper job and jury probably still out in him as a manager.

Wolves appointed Stale Solbakken as their manager last night. He’s had lots of success with Copenhagen and managed them in the Champions League but got relegated from the Bundesliga with Koln this season, as far as I know. Of course, Terry Connor will be remaining on at the club in an assistant / coaching role.

I wish Stale all the best. He has some job on his hands to clean up the mess left by that buffoon McCarthy.

[/quote]I was expecting a lot of stale jokes about this appointment.

The ginger baboon is gone huzzah!!!

Capello is in at about 5/1 for the Chelsea job, I was looking at the odds there about a fortnight ago and he was 14/1 or thereabouts, I was considering a flutter at it but Guardiola was the big favourite then. I think I may still put some money on Capello, only Mourinho could be regarded as a better manager in today’s game, he’s available and wants to manage in the Premier League and he seems to have a good relationship with the likes of Terry and Lampard. I don’t believe Chelsea will retain Di Matteo unless he wins the CL, which may not even be enough.

Walter Mazzarri is expected to leave Napoli at the end of the season.

Big Mick now as short as 5/4 for the Aston Villa job :o . Here’s hoping Randy Lerner makes it happen so we can collectively enjoy KIB Man seething for the next while at least :ireland:

Here’s hoping. :ireland:
