Managerial Merrygoround Thread

That’s Chelsea finished for the season anyway.

Truly bizarre sacking of a top man and a top manager in Bobby.

Rafa to Chelsea is said to be a done deal and should be announced shortly according to a clatter of journo’s on twitter.

He’s there until the end of the season…

Not sure how I feel about that. Love Rafa, detest Chelsea… Let’s hope he fucks them up.

Very harsh on Di Matteo.

i don’t know. Think he was seen as nothing more than a stop gap by Abramovich. Would have been replaced in the summer only for the Champions League victory, which in all honesty their rode their luck big time in winning. Have never been convinced by him as a manager. They have been leaking goals at an alarming rate under him[/quote]

They couldn’t really not appoint him even though he was really lucky last season. Their shot conversion ratio (an excellent barometer of luck) was through the roof at the end of last season and nothing from Di Matteo before suggested he’d be brilliant.

Sacking him today was strange timing though. They’re no better or worse than they have been in recent seasons.

Really got the sense that he really didn’t want to give him the job but Guardiola wanted to take the year off and Abramovich probably thought he could tolerate him for a year.

It does beg the question; what does Abramovich regard as success? Mourinho wins two league titles, loses one and is quickly sacked. Ancelotti wins the double, also sacked. Di Matteo wins the champions league and FA cup, sacked. What does a Chelsea manager have to do to keep his job?

Also heard this evening that Chelsea have spent more on managerial dismissals in the last seven years than Everton have since the beginning of the premier league. That’s crazy.

Bolo Zenden will be Rafa’s assistant at Chelsea

For real, bro?Does he have coaching experience? Are they pals?

This is great, Chelsea are fucked

So long Sparky you prick.

Expect Arry to be in place by the end of the day

Harry has played this wonderfully.

How so?

They were my thoughts on this as well. All this talk of Harry managing the Ukraine and being in talks with them was a load of bollix. Harry was never going to take that job but it did put him in the window and force QPR to make a decision.

Looks that way-was he not going on about only wanting to manage a London based team a month or so ago because he didn’t want to move house. Del boy does it again it seems.

Harry lives in Sandbanks between Poole and Bournemouth

True, he was always whinging to his bookie about the drive up to London.

'Arry probably had a few quid on Di Matteo at 25’s to be the next Premier League boss to get the sack. That would explain why Sparky only got the boot today and not earlier in the week…
