That’s it, these yanks see that if they stay up for a couple of seasons they’ll have made their money back and more. Then sell it on for profit.
Only 5 teams can realistically win the League, what is there for the others to do? The best they can do then is hope the bigger sides take the cups semi seriously and they might get a break like Stoke. Should they bankrupt themselves like Pompey or Leeds?
A lot more English clubs have the ability to challenge for the league if they are shrewd and crafty in how they utilise their resources. Dortmund and Atletico have won league titles and made CL finals in recent years on relatively modest budgets.
The mentality of English teams who arrive in with their blank cheque books and sign average players on bumper deals. I can’t understand the way people buy into it, the football is shit, teams are crammed with big black mercenaries who can barely put a few passes together and are earning obscene money. The atmosphere is woeful as well. I can’t wait until the well runs dry but that doesn’t seem to be any time soon.
The Championship on the other hand is a great league, much more easy on the eye style of football, players playing with that bit of honesty and endeavour, passionate fans and very unpredictable where teams come from nowhere to compete at the top.
Villa 0-0 at HT playing horrid stuff. Tim left the directors box and made his way to the dressing room. Villa come out in the second half a completely changed side. Midfielders getting into the box As often as possible and the fullbacks bombing forward. Villa win comfortably, 2-1 after a late consolation goal for Leicster. To Tim
Wigan have appointed Gary Caldwell as their new manager on a permanent basis.
Klopp apparently leaving Dortmund. Press conference later this morning.
Pelligrini’s replacement?
That seems to be the rumour but today will just announce his departure at end of season apparently.
Thomas Tuchel was about to become Hamburg manager but ended talks yesterday. He’d be the obvious choice to replace Klopp after his transformation of Mainz.
Paul Lambert is a legend at Dortmund and is available
Is Koppo away?
Are you saying he’s going to Liverpool?
I assume that the Dortmund team will be broken up and the likes of Reus, Hummel’s, Gundogen etc will be off.
It will be nice to see Kevin Grosskrutz playing for Celtic next year
The timing strongly suggests Klopp will be taking over at Man City.
Ancelotti may well be sacked so there’s also a good chance Klopp could end up in Madrid. Ancelotti might then head sideways to Manchester City.
Possible.
AC Milan could be an outside possibility
There was talk about Manchester City appointing Argentina’s World Cup manager Alejandro Sabella as a sort of stop gap as their real target is Guardiola who won’t be available for at least another year. Neither Klopp or Ancelotti fit the bill as stop gaps. I don’t see why Guardiola would want to go to City though and Beguristain may well be out the door this summer anyway as his signings have been shit. Arsenal is the club Guardiola really wants to manage in England, I think, but they already have the great Arsene Wenger.
It’s possible that Guardiola may not want to manage in England.
He was manager of a great Barca team and was guaranteed to be in the top 2 of the league and most likely champions.
He took over a great Munich team and was pretty much guaranteed to win the league. His clubs to date have made it easy for him to do well.
If he took over at Man City or Arsenal, he would not be guaranteed a top 2 position in the league. It may be more of a challenge than he wants to accept.

It’s just as likely he’ll bide his time and wait for the Barcelona job to become available again.
