Youâve no business in the âChampions Leagueâ unless youâre there as domestic Champions or defending European Cup champions. Man U in 1999 would be devalued currency in the eye of traditionalist as they werenât there as Champions of England from 1997/98.
If Citeh win the triple of League/FA Cup/European Cup this season, theyâll have done it the proper way as theyâre representing our domestic league in the European Cup this season as Champions of England.
