I think a lot of people genuinely thought there was a poison in the club and theyd never compete again. That it was a complete basket case that was beyond saving. It was always about the manager though and they never had a proper good in in 13 years.

Well if you can spend on a scale and offer wages that very few clubs on the planet can match and keep throwing hundreds of millions at it the way Man U do, if you have a half competent manager at the helm rather than some continental hipster, it will eventually come right.
