Inside Manchester United’s summer tour: Meticulous preparation, crucial bonding, new players catching up
Is Summer Tour 2025 a game changer?
The Mark Robins moment.
Something very impressive about Ben Amorim. I like the cut of his jib.
It certainly seems so. Fans of football would be mad not to get on board now. It’ll be a belter of a season. Id say the trophy for most improved premiership team is almost a certainty…
I’m getting more enquires for tickets than I would have at this point in previous seasons…
You need to turn those fuckers down and stick with the lads who filled the seats over the last few dark seasons…
Anything new and exciting in the superstore pyjamas range?
Unbelievably the marketing department, shorn of half their staff, have come up with an Amorim onesy! It’s got hues of portuguese green and United Red with the crest and an optional beard. A steal at 69.95£. We’ll be doing the family Christmas matching pic in them.
Amorim is going to be given time. He has the sexual harassment case against Ratcliffe in his back pocket. He was talking about staying for 20 years there in The Athletic.
That sounds fantastic. I’m nearly tempted to get one myself.
I like him but I have a couple of concerns. He is a slave to 343 and Im not convinced that this is a good fit for premier league.
He looks like he micro manages players on the pitch i.e. if x happens you must do y, be in y position.
I dont like coaches in any sport that stifles creativity. Good coaches have their priniciples of play and are fluid rather than rigid with regards tactics.
In fairness Saturday night they were playing 4-4-2 at times.
He has stressed a few times it’s about personal being flexible.
The difference between 3-4-3 and 4-3-3 is small enough as well.
It’s huge in terms of pressing, the 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 is four in the forward press instead of just the front 3. It’s why you need absolute savages at wingback in the 3-4-3 to get up and help the 3 forwards.
An organised 3-4-3 is brilliant for defending the box and maintaining easy possession at the back but it’s an issue when the team goes behind.
There’s a real feel that this will be united year.
I’d say Dorgu is going to be a huge player in the system. Diallo is going to have to put in a huge shift as well but he seems like a really good lad.
My good pal is head of product development**
I’ll pass on your congratulations.
**Or something along those lines.
He’d have some chance if someone plays him the ball on an overlapping run…
Diallo can’t even make it as a celeb spot mate. How on earth is he going to hold down a wing at yanited?
In fairness, amorim is operating on a shoestring budget of about 200million this summer.
Fire the car park security I say.
Get him to do it! If this turns into an actual product it’ll be yet another in the line of my genius ideas making it to reality. I’d say those Jackman t shirts get serious props these days…
