Obviously as a Leinster man I was disappointed for Wexford, but there’s no need to rub it in - also my mother is from Limerick and I was happy to see them win.

Very disappointing night but is good to be back in the greatest competition in world and we are slowly improving it wasn’t until Fellani came on we really fell apart.
De gea: Fairly solid. Couple of decent saves
Darmain: At fault for both goals in my book.
Smalling: Very good. His distribution has improved a lot.
Blind: Terrible once moved to left back but added to his impressive assist haul from that position.
Shaw: Probably season over him. Terrible luck was playing well this year.
Bastian: Not great but put in a couple of ok tackles and kept the ball moving. Definitely improving with the match practice.
Herrera: Not his night tonight and probably all the good will from the pool game gone up in smoke. LVG doesn’t need much to screw this lad.
Mata: His touch was off. No pace. Jose mugged united off good proper with him.
Depay: Glimpses of brilliance but not consistent at all. Game fell apart in the last 20 minutes. Took the goal expertly.
Young: His transformation from being utterly crap to decent is boring me now. So predictable.
Martial: His first start for united. Showed a couple of nice touches and has insane pace. Will improve.
8 of the starting 11 made their CL debuts for United tonight.
Hopefully we learn quickly that these types of teams are much better than the vast majority of premier league teams we face and deserve total respect.
