Not a big club.
@croppy earlier today in total disgust of the recent results set fire to his old Man Utd jersey on Portmarnock beach. He wept as the printed words on the back of the jersey “The Guvnor” burned…
It was genius by Fergie to pick Moyes to replace him as his own reputation has soared in Moyes ineptness. If a decent appointment was made and had made United a better team it would have shown up Fergies faults.
Thinly veiled Ferguson hates the Club
Bet an old Manu jersey went up like a Roman candle.
January now looks make it break for moyes. Disgraceful home form has cost us severely and we are now in real danger of missing out on the top 4. Moyes has to buy - and will no doubt pay well over the odds - in January. If we finish outside the top 4 we just won’t attract the players in the summer and an unraveling could ensue. I was willing to give him till the end of the next summer transfer window out to sort his shit out but his poor display has cost him time. He doesn’t inspire confidence on the line either - his don’t concede first attitude is in direct contradiction to Uniteds philosophy but yet we are constantly open down the middle. He looks lost.
Moyes is only a patsy, a fall guy until the real manager comes in… Steve Bruce.
More like Fergie thinks he is the club.
Ferguson stood by and was implicit in the downfall of the club with his carryon re Rock of Gibraltar. His ego was always far more important than the club. This is merely the inevitable endgame.
Any manager after Ferguson was always going to find it hard. The job is too big for Moyes. United have lost their aura of invincibility in the League. Teams now show up and see Moyes is manager and expect to win.
To be honest it would be better off to not buy in January rather than panic buy and end up with another Fellaini. Give Moyes the season and see the situation in May. If Top 4 is achieved give him free reign next summer to oversee wholesale changes - incomings and outgoings. If the current malaise continues and United end up mid table a mutual parting of the ways looks inevitable. I’m still backing Moyes but the spiritless displays are worse than the results themselves at the moment. No real structure or pattern to the team.
The fact is that the Glazers are leeching the club dry and have been doing since the day they came in. A refusal to invest in the squad is coming home to roost now with no Fergie to perform miracles. The Ronaldo money was used to buy Valencia and the other £63m went to Florida. Van Persie’s signing was a parting gift to Fergie and one of the few players in the last few years United signed who was genuinely proven class. Last season he galvinised the squad like Ozil has for Arsenal this year. It’s amazing what happens when you buy quality players. They command a premium price though.

I don’t think you can in anyway defend the money Ferguson wasted on chumps like Young, Nani, Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Anderson and Bebe.
There’s over €100m and bumper contracts on very mediocre players there. Moyes is best off clearing out all the deadwood and giving the youngsters a chance. He clearly isn’t fit to manage a club with title aspirations however as he is a very negative manager with a small club mindset.
Moyes is doing a damn fine job all things considered.

Fergie kept winning with all those shit players though. (Smalling and Jones don’t deserve to be bracketed with the other dross you mention)
He did but whoever was going to take over was going to find it almost impossible to replicate with such an average squad at their disposal. I don’t think Moyes is up to the job but I think even a good and successful manager would have struggled in this job without serious investment to rebuild the squad.
I think there are three problems here.
-
Ferguson is a self serving cunt.
-
United fans are typically the likes of captainshan.
-
They’ve learned nothing from the failure to manage the transition during the post Busby era. When Ferguson retired he shoud’ve moved away from the club instead of writing a book and looming large on the tv screen everytime United concede a goal.
Liverpool clearly learned from the Busby disaster by totally cutting Shankly out of the club and keeping him off the board. Shanks was upset by this and when he tried to interfere Paisley eventually told him to leave.Peter Robinson and John Smith are what United need now, not Alex Ferguson.
They were his shit players tho, coming into a squad that had only known fergie and winning for 20 odd years. Take away fergie, couple of injuries and the decline of Giggs, Ferdinand etc… No manager could gloss over all that.

Ferguson is bigger than manyoofc, no one is bigger than LFC, thats your difference
When @croppy cracks about Ferguson take cover. He still hasn’t forgiven O’Neill for leaving Celtic with the likes of Mo Camara, Bobo Balde and Mo Sylla…

Yes that’s worked out well for them in the long term.
Just as well they did the same with Dalglish.
