Billy Davies also. Comes from a very similar background to Moyesie so would ensure continuity and a coherent, holistic philospohy in terms of managerial lineage.
I’d agree with you that the Limerick job is so big that it needed two men to do it.
I can’t recall Manchester United ever needing joint managers before, though.
Only the really big clubs have ever appointed joint managers.
Steve Bruce could do a job.
He’s about to get the boot, feel a bit sorry for him (a nice, decent man) but the job was just too big for him. Just not cut out to manage Manchester United.
No fucking about with his replacement, get a proven winner in who has the balls, bottle and brass neck needed at Old Trafford.
Its the recently recruited fan like you, only following it for the winning that have played a part in Moysie’s downfall.
I thought one of your main gripes with Moysie was he didn’t have them ‘playing the United way’. How do you reconcile your sudden championing of Mourinho with ‘playing the United way’.

I’m far from a recently recruited fan @Sidney
The football has gone steadily downhill since Ronaldo left. However Fergie was still able to dig out the results which papered over the cracks - the football was more workmanlike than blindingly entertaining even last year.
With Moyes it was the worst of both worlds - terrible performances and terrible results.
Mourinho showed when he took Chelsea to city a few months his teams are well able to play exciting attacking football.
Sacking club

You’re getting confused again. You’re not responding to Sidney.
How would the football and ‘playing it the United way’ have gone under Mourinho?
Uniteds mistake was they let one man get bigger than the club…Fergie. For any multimillion pound business to appoint a senior manager without an interview is just incredible. In any line of business. One would almost feel sorry for Moyes except for the fact he is a whingy cunt. Bleating about Liverpool winning the European cup in 2005 that there would be ‘trouble in the streets’ if Everton weren’t left in as well.
Must have been awful to face that dressing with pricks like Giggs, Rooney, Evra and Van Persie though. Made a big mistake sacking all the back up team at least they knew how to manage the egos.
United need a manager that can start straight away so couldnt see Van Gaal getting it. Isnt klopp in line for the Barca gig. It dosent really leave many to choose from. Carlos Queiroz has to be worth a bet on. Knows the club from his time as Fergies assistant and something to prove after his spell at Real.
I hope Klopp does not get the job because I like him. Ancelotti won’t leave Real. Too much class for United.
United would be better off without Van Gaal, he’s yesterdays man. The majority of his successes came during his Ajax days and it’s almost 20 years since his sole Champions League triumph. He was also a disaster in his initial spell in charge of the Dutch National team.
+1
Let’s hope he gets the gig.

He’s the Alan Curbishley of European football, his name always seems to come up when one of the major jobs become vacant.
David May silenced by Mutv by claming Moyes was out of his depth. He got the ball rolling. When David May says something you listen.
Did an excellent job at Bayern though. Their team now was more or less his creation. Converting Schweinstiger into a central midfielder was genius.
And did an excellent job with Alkmaar. Don’t know how he could be classed as a yesterdays man, very progressive coach/manager and is outstanding at developing young players. He has a huge ego but would certainly improve United and remove the deadwood from their team fairly promptly while playing good technical football
Indeed.
I am proud to have his name under my username.
Ancelotti could be a good shout. He won the double at Chelsea and was ridiculously sacked a year later. Has done it as a player and has done it as a manager. Seems to command total respect and authority. Madrid could well get rid of him in the summer too.
I would love it if Queiroz got the job.
Yeah, he did bring through a couple of the current crop. He won the Bundesliga once, when none of the opposing teams were very strong, but he was shown up badly the following year when Dortmund came through and won the league easily, Bayer Leverkusen even beat them into 3rd. No great feat to win the Bundesliga while manager of Bayern, on a par with winning the SPL while manager of Celtic.
