In the fullness of time, what will fergusons true legacy be at united? Will he be remembered for the triumphs, or the fella who mortgaged the club so he could earn a few quid on horse spunk? Its all well and good remembering the good times now, but if the club doesn’t hate this decline shortly, its hard to see how or when they will. His legacy could very well be a leaky stand.
A dog with a stick in his hole would have won half of them, but I take your point, you’ll have to acknowledge some of the success. But his role in the decline will have a bright light shone on it once the eulogies are chip paper.
First order of business for the new manager, stop signing wingers and defenders with no pace, stop signing central midfielders who can’t run. Sell Bruno. That will solve a lot.
The recruitment has been poor since Fergusons retirement but I think there was an element of that malaise setting in even before his departure. The likes of Phil Jones and Shinji Kagawa signed during his final couple of summer windows and flattered to deceive at the club. Of course at that stage they had a good manager to paper over the cracks.
Only 4 managers have won more European cups than him. He also won cup winners cup with utd when really meant something and incredibly won it with Aberdeen.
Man U need a nasty vindictive cunt as a manager.End of.And a leader on the field similiar.
Lads like Eric,Ole,Ralf etc-way too passive.
The club is and has been player driven since Alex left and the results speak for themselves.
Look at the clip of Bruno sitting down rocking himself on the stairs after the recent game in Turkey and look at Ten Hag spluttering his way through interviews.Zero charisma.
