Manchester Utd 2023/24 (Part 1)

He’s going/gone.

To be fair to ETH he hasn’t wasted much time in gutting the squad (which was long overdue).

In 12 months Pogba, Lingard, De Gea, Maguire, Telles, Elanga, Ronaldo all shown the door, and not many on that list can feel hard done by.

Some combination of Henderson, McTominay, Fred and Beek could leave this summer. Amrabat from Fiorentina could be a bargain signing too, as it would ease the burden on Casemiro. The squad was running on fumes last March and April, should be greater depth and opportunity to rotate this season.

The real exciting thing is Mainoo and garnacho look incredibly exciting and they have come from the youth academy/reserves.

I don’t ever really remember signing a world class player at their peak and him playing that well for man United.

Possibly RVN but he was injured before he joined man United maybe RVP and Casemiro but they were into their 30s.

Man United are always better off signing lads in that 18-23 bracket and developing them.

True, the development of Van De Beek has been nothing short of astonishing.

Greenwood is the best young player at united imho.

I don’t think you can say that after 18 months out really.

Accept that point but it was not a serious injury that kept him out.

Maguire will be the greatest English centre half to play for West Ham.

Think this lad is the real deal. A genuine gamechanger if they get him.

Hard to see him bettering Billy Bonds or Alvin Martin.

A long way to go to emulate Julian Dicks

Surprised the arab city didn’t swoop in.

Fuck it, I forgot Paul Konchevsky.

Seba Veron was probably the most exciting transfer of the last 20 years, for me. He was probably at, or near, his peak. Ultimately, it wasn’t a success because the system didn’t suit him but there were a handful of games he was on another planet. Mostly in Europe.

Ferguson hadnt the tactical acumen to handle a player of his gifts. He blackguarded him. And the transfer stank.

Have any other clubs been in for him?

He didn’t really harness his talents like he did with Tevez alright. Carlitos played the best football of his career when he won the Champions League.

A beautiful soul. He also spoke his mind and really told Ferguson what he thought of him on leaving the club.

I don’t know but shocked if there were not. A real “water carrier” of a player.

West ham should have held out for 40 million
