Busy day in Rosslare Harbour this afternoon.
Why are you hiding in the bushes mate? Are you involved in some kind of espionage or reconnaissance?
Spying for the Brexiteers pal.
I’m sailing to Spain with Brittany Ferries from Rosslare in a months time, pal
I’ve seen and heard only great things about the Salamanca. Enjoy
Good to know. I’ll update the forum in due course.
Two boats - call the civil defence bro
Three, with one out docked out of sight in the middle of the water.
The greatest ship that sailed the Irish Sea IMHO. Was on the Rosslare Harbour to Fishguard route.
Have nothing but great memories of the Felicity. Growing up, me da worked as a chef onboard Sealink/Stena, so we’d have the odd birthday onboard. We’d often go on daytrips as well. Lads around Wexford would head over on a day trip on Good Friday just to go on the beer! They’d come off the boat with about 300 boxes of cigarettes, and a rake of beer and in the horrors! Great times.
A good run around up on the top deck of Killian II was hard bet as a chap. You rarely get access to a good helipad on a ferry these days.
Those of us living on the Shannon Estuary are in the unique position of being on both maritime and aeronautical drug smuggling routes.
We had two trips on the Stena Adventurer this week to Holyhead and back. Very relaxed and comfortable. Loads for the kids to do and they met a few friends that occupied them for the trip. Grub wasn’t bad either- a nice alternative to flying to the mainland if you’ve a bit of time.
That and the Patrick were fine looking ships. I’ve never gone beyond Wales, tis on my to do list next year.
The kids will never forget that. Hope ya’s got decent weather for it. Lovely leaving Dublin on a ferry.
The St Columba on the Holyhead route and the Leinster on the liverpool route were top notch ferries. The Liverpool crossing could be a rough 9 hours back in the day.
