Matchday 9 v Land Rovers

The English language has never felt so bland - no wordsmith could conjure up images to convey the brutal beauty of that victory tonight with mere words.

A ridiculous administrative red tape decision from the league forced us to start without our full panel.

A catalogue of disgraceful refereeing decisions robbed us of rightful possession.

A downright corrupt decision saw @briantinnion ordered off shortly before the interval.

Lady luck saw us fall two behind within the same number of minutes.

A great summoning of guts and grace saw this gang overcome such irrelevant obstacles.

No human power or force of nature could deny us victory tonight. Every player gave his all, and each gave more again. We bullied them, we drove them into the ground, and without pausing to mark their passing, we danced a merry dance on their graves with an intricate performance marrying guile with grit, that delirium of the brave.

History will record the names of the heroes as:

@Bandage
@Cesc4
@briantinnion
@Rocko
@Scrunchie
@Joaq-cian
@taytomurphy93
@Monkey Allen

Wonderful words @Rocko. When I retire from astro league football, and that day will arrive sooner than I’d like to admit, it won’t be league titles and trophies that I remember. It’ll be individual snapshots, unforgettable moments, those seconds on the pitch sharing victory with my team-mates in the immediate aftermath of matches like tonight’s. A performance for the ages. I’ll be buying the DVD for my nephew for Christmas.

What has happened Farmer’s astro career?

Farmer has retired due to a persistent back problem. We’re hoping with advances in medical treatment that he might miraculously return in the future.

That reminds me; the battle to get into The Hall of Fame this Thanksgiving will be epic.

I’m just happy the cunt in the Arsenal jersey lost

One of the all time great Astro performances. The DVD will be in the club shop for Christmas and will make an ideal stocking filler for all TFK AFC fans.

The highlight of the game for me was during a spell of Frantic defending, @taytomurphy93 realised he needed to put the ball out of play so we could re-group and get our shape back. As the ball came to him on the halfway line, he took the safe option and knocked it out for a corner. An old head on young shoulders.

That was class. Our very own version of tiki taka.

As i recall the match was on a knife-edge at that particular moment in time. It was calling for someone to step up and take it by the scruff of the neck, i answered this call and kicked the ball as far as i could (it was by chance that i happened to be facing our goal). The old kicking the ball away trick. Classic.

My favourite moment was when @ 5-2 @Rocko gave away a throw-in then lifted up the net and kicked the ball away much to the consternation of Arsenal guy who screamed “What are you doing?” To which Rocko just laughed.

I think I collided with @Bandage too in a goalmouth scramble. Have a lump on me forehead

Yeah, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to hit you a cheap shot after we smuggled the ball away from danger.

Was last night a dream? Was it all just a figment of my imagination? Did we actually systematically take apart the league leaders? No it wasn’t and yes we did. The league is still in our hands with 13 games to go

Saddening to read about some of the games-manship that took place. @Rocko booting the ball away when it was already out, that’s not what TFK AFC was founded on.

Context, my friend. They went 2-0 up and were giving it big licks. On the back of last week’s debacle of a defeat too and the season potentially in ruins. And then the beautiful resurrection happened. We make no apologies that it was brutal too. It needed to be. We had to win.

Are you telling me they were giving it loads? Swaggering around like big time charlies? Give me the context, pal.

:clap:

Exactly, pal. Plenty of verbals when they were 2-0 up and general cockiness. The type whose general words of encouragement to each other also took the form of barbed comments about the opposition. “Keep this up, lads. We’re killing them.” “That pass is always on - there’s loads of goals here for us.” “They can’t live with this.” And so on. High fiving each other after moves when the ball was out of play and strutting around like cunts generally.

A bit of direct talk too. Some lad was giving plenty of chat to @Rocko in the first half but there wasn’t a peep out of him by the end. I must say, it was a wonderful display of uncontrolled fury by the Turk. If he wasn’t roaring abuse at the referee, he was verbally threatening the opposition or physically kicking the shit out of them. A very disciplined performance.

In that case, I would like to issue a full hearted apology to @Rocko, TFK AFC and the TFK AFC ultras.

Clear eyes, full heart, can’t lose.

This sounds like the time the Neville brothers kicked 7 shades of shit out of Reyes and the Arsenal boys, well done TFK :clap:
