Mayo v Meath

Decent enough crowd in for this.

Saw a decent Mayo mob on the Luas earlier on today, lovely looking birds in jersies, the whole nine yards.

If Meath were to win it would force a lot of people into reconsidering the mean things they’ve been saying about Leinster football recently, but then again I can’t say I want them to win because they’re cunts. I’ll settle for an entertaining game and a narrow Mayo win, by 2 we’ll say.

The pitch is a joke, theres fella’s slipping and sliding all over the place. This could ruin the hurling later on

Come on Meath.

Now we’ve a game on.

I never fail to be amazed at how bad 'keepers in gaelic football are. Fair enough, yer man Bray was 8 yards out right in front of goal but the 'keeper just lay down before he hit it. Most of them are chosen because they have a good ‘kick out’.

Your man showed great composure though in fairness, and it all happens fairly quickly as well.

He then missed a simple free and now Mayo back in front. Kerry laughing at this

Some woeful wides from both teams, if it wasn’t already fairly apparent that neither of these two will trouble Kerry, it definitely is obvious now.

The 'keeper should have been out in his face while staying big and on his feet. Pretty much like Cluxton was against Kerry when he forced yer man to try go around him and then blocked the effort. It’s funny the amount of stick he gets given he’s the best 'keeper in the game by a street. Come on Meath - into these cunts.

Have you squids on Meath Bandage?

Did the lad in commentary just say “credit to the umpires, they were right on the spot”? Now correct me if I am wrong but the umpires stand by the goalposts for the full 70 minutes without moving so chances are they’d have been there alright. :guns:

No, I merely have a deep respect for Meath football since being brought to the '87 and '88 All Ireland finals as a kid by my Cork born auld lad. Meath are great.

Can seen Mayo bottling this. Have laid Mayo heavily for the AI outright with a friend of mine so heres hoping.

Conor Mortimer is obviously over the death of Michel Jackson anyway

Great stuff by Meath. Ah, it’s mindboggling.

3 point win. Wonder if we’ll be hearing much about that goal that wasn’t in the 1st half now

I agree, i hated them at the time, but with maturity i realised that they were a great team. They were great days.
I hope he brought you in 1990 as well though.:guns:

Beaten Leinster quarter finalists swat aside the Connacht champions. Emphasises the strength of football in Leinster once more. Meath’s steel is deadly.

Spillane “Mayo are Dublin in disguise”

There is a bit of truth in that, we’ll surely see another bout of historical revisionism in the national media after that, same way there was after the Dublin v Kerry game.
