Minks,Stoats,Weasels and Tipp animals etc

Went for an easy 5 mile run through there around 2pm Sunday and my route takes me out through the barriers. The amount of lads pulling and dragging small kids on the two mile hike in the road to save the few euro is a joke . Three year old srcreaming while he tries to push their bike and the buggy with the six month old inside, his head gone as red as a tomato ready to explode equally from anger and because it’s the only exercise he’s gotten since his last trip there last summer. The tight bastard. . That is the general go of what I meet constantly.

I saw a guy walking in with a baby in a buggy and a toddler in his arms. What do they be thinking

With the amount of vodka drinking foreign nationals that use that already dangerous road … you’d want your head examined as they say.

Was that me??

No, you were the chirpy Cork guy with 3 daughters and was wearing trainers. On the balance of probabilities it must have been you.

My youngest girl is always being left out here, it’s 4!
Keepan eye out, you’d often find me in Curraghchase, I’ll be on the lookout for secret winks from a small lad

Each to their own…

If you go down to the woods today…

I almost killed a mink on the road tonight. He was carrying a fresh kill, possibly a young rabbit. We were both traveling at speed, and to be fair to him he showed a wonderful turn of pace to escape my change of direction to nail him. He was big and strong and moved with a distinctive bob of the head. If you find yourself out and about of a fine summer’s evening in the environs of Connolly, be careful.

As an aside, there are an amount of foxes about.

There’s an amount of rabbits about. Never saw so many off the train the other morning.

Free travel pass?

No, they were in the fields beside the railway line.

I was in a shop in Russia there and was very tempted to buy a mink hat. They also had a lovely white polar fox fur with the head and paws attached and all.

I’d love a proper mink hat so I would. One that was lined on the inside with mink fur. A hat that used at least two of the bastards. They say the fur of a young mink is the most sought after.

Pine Marten passed through the garden. He didn’t look one bit hungry.

Was back the field there and saw a small fox, there was a hare then in the next field.
There’s nare a rabbit around our area, but plenty of hares.

We’ve hares as big as kangaroos and foxes the size of wolves. So we have.

The wildlife are absolutely loving the lockdown.

Buzzards all over the place lately. A lovely creature. Saw four circling overhead there during the week. You’d swear they were eagles
