Missing People In Ireland

How has not been found though? Went wandering at 11am. Thought he headed north out of that hotel, canal is the other way.

I got the impression it was night time when he went wandering? I can’t understand a fella in a foreign country leaving his phone and wallet in his room before going wandering. There’s something very off with that.

No it was just on Crimecall. He went in the morning. CCTV showed him walking out of the hotel - smoking a fag, looked relaxed enough.

A young lad went missing around Clontarf as well. He could be in the sea unfortunately.

Looks like he was killed by a bad hand.

Where is the nearest water to that area? He could have taken the dart to howth I suppose.

Not hugely familiar with that area but I would say that Malahide would be close, sea-wise.

It would be a bit cuntish to storm off following an argument with a lady over losing a pile of cash on poker and to jump into the sea, without a mention to anyone.

Pure speculation of course.

For lads that travel abroad to play poker tournaments I would hazard that 4,000 wouldnt be a huge amount of money. Now that said i dont know his circumstances and maybe he’d had some agreement with the Mrs he wouldnt play until she arrived over.

It’s close as is Howth but other than taxi there is no direct public transport to those area’s from where he was seen.

I was thinking the same, for tournament poker players surely they would have a fund set up for this. I doubt if playing poker on his own without the Mrs would make him disappear, unless she is a Annie Wilkes sort of person.

He was a long way from a Dart Line

It’s great to see the amateur sleuths of tfk go to work solving a case.

He was an amateur or hobby poker player. The poker tournament coincided with a larger ten day holiday himself and the partner were having in Ireland. The poker tournament was not to start until after he went missing. Reading between the lines it looks like he’s gone down to the casino a few nights early and played in a cash game and done his dough, maybe started chasing his losses. €4k loss in one night sounds like a lot to a hobbyist with kids and a day job as a taxi driver back in Iceland. I’d wager the wife found out he’d blown all their holiday money and a big argument ensued before your man had enough and walked out. This is why he left without his phone and wallet, because it was in haste. You can see him on the CCTV at one point sort of shaking his head and talking to himself. He looked like he was seething with himself. Might have been financial stress back in Iceland we don’t know about and he really could have done without this. It’s fair to deduce that he’s voluntarily entered a body of water somewhere in Co. Dublin.

That sounds reasonable to me.

Concise explanation from the resident Walter Mitty

Is there a chance he lost a battle on the INTERNET?

He’s miles from water and at least a good hour of a walk. If he’d got a taxi or bus he’d be picked up on CCTV somewhere. I’m ruling out water for the moment based on the hotels location.

A hotel in dublin??

The Hotel is in Whitehall, same place where the shootings took place to kick start the Kinehan Hutch feud. The closest bit of water / sea would be the Tolka River in Upper Drumcondra, the Canal near Lower Drumcondra or the sea at Clontarf. If he’d been going towards the river of the canal he’d surely have been spotted or picked up on CCTV somewhere.

When I posted earlier I’d forgotten about the Tolka River so I’ll change my time from an hour to say 30 mins.
