I’d hold off on the mutual sucking of cocks in FG and FF HQ. This crisis is only beginning. Some people are really taken in by soundbites, social media pronouncements and the like. I wonder will people be lauding the government in 8 -12 weeks time or will we be picking over the bones of what they should have done and how we were set up to fail due to an embargo on the hiring of nurses and the fact that so many health care professionals left this country in the first place.

When students are studying the covid-19 question for the leaving cert in 2040 — they simply will not be able to get their heads around how flights continued to roll in from Italy long after the first case was confirmed. There were people arriving into the country from China right up to four weeks ago - no vetting or questioning. One lad started in our building 5 weeks ago, pretty much straight off the plane, even tho he had been sent an email to isolate for 14 days - he just ignored it - but was told to go home by HR once it was brought to their attention.

The P Flynn moment of this time will be Harris saying we have to adhere to the EU principals of free movement and how it is a core right enshrined… etc etc. This will be held up against Dr Carmen Regans rubbishing of same excuse not to close our borders. I’m not sure why people are starting to get complacent and politicking. The numbers are rising steadily. Instead of Where is Mary Lou Memes we maybe staring at where are our old age pensioners or vulnerable in society. Our unelected (twice) Taoiseach plagiarized lines from Winston Churchill, some line from TV show Scrubs and a movie about an asteroid and some lads are tickled pink by this. You couldn’t make it up.

I saw a case on YouTube in the UK where a guy acted very similarly to the husband in this case, keeping the case in the media, inviting documentaries, and it turned out he had killed the wife, cut her up and left her head in a wheelie bin to be taken by the refuse collectors.
