Missing People In Ireland

Surely the fella he’d had tea with has confirmed his state, inebriated or not?

If your man was following him or threatening him he might have wanted to give him the slip and/or for him not to see where Trevor lived.

I think that’s what Tim is alluding to …

He said he wasn’t pissed. He had clearly had a couple but not too bad.

Deely going that way to try and get away from him and not allow him to know where he lived does make some sense. Sadly Pembroke Road is far better lit and main than Haddington, Deely could have cut down a number of side roads down Haddington and have been attacked.

Just looking at the behaviour of that guy on CCTV, he looks to be in some troubled state. Leaning on the wall, head drooping…some lad kicked out of his house that night and wanting shelter?

That is absolutely horrendous quality, why have the morons released that? A dark blob following a tan coloured blob down a road from 17 years ago.

Every now and then cold cases intentionally get pushed into the public consciousness because someone out there has suspicions/knows who did this (presuming the poor lad was murdered).

A few months ago it was Philip Cairns by June/July there will probably be a dig in the Wicklow Mountains for the young McCarrick girl. You can call it cynical but its probably all they can do to try and encourage someone to come forward but you probably knew that but you just wanted to have a dig at the video/cops.

There were other people walking by soon after.

All week we’re hearing about new digitally enhanced footage, and that’s what they cough up?

There is only so much you can do with an old VHS tape. The stuff you see on CSI and yer wan doing all that cool stuff with her fancy computer within a 50min programme isn’t real.

No shit you clown. What’s your point here, they’ve done a great job with the enhancement and close to solving the case? Sounds like a complete waste of time and only serves to put the family through the wringer again. Can you remember who you passed on a street 17 years ago while you were pissed drunk?

No you gobshite. They are trying to get anyone who might have info to come forward. This has gotten them more media attention then just holding a press conference and repeating the fact that they have no new leads and are screwed without someone coming forward.
By coming out with “digitally enhanced” images its gotten huge media attention and gotten two bored guys on a Friday evening arguing over the quality of a video on the illustrious TFK.

it will be released when Liverpool win a league title

why did he follow trevor, from the image he doesn’t look to be homeless so maybe someone trevor worked with they argued at the gates and he waited for him outside and then followed him and attacked him, would his colleagues remember any arguments/problems with any he had at work ? this doesn’t look to be some random mugger as he would not take the risk of being identified by the cctv of the BOI premises

Would be likely he would have mentioned something like that to the work colleague he had the cup of tea with?

I think what is key about these images is that they can make out that it is highly likely that this figure following him was the same person at the gates at 3.30am and they interacted. I don’t think they could be as definitive about that before.
