For womens safety its early time to look at segregating Oirish men and women.

Is that Saturday.

Fucking hell.

So at this point she’s either dead or captured somewhere? Fucking nuts

Seems he has been working as a quantity surveyor for the last couple of years for a company based in grand canal dock. Between him and architect Graham Dwyer, it’s clear construction professionals are a weird set and not to be trusted.

I’d say the QS are a weirder bunch.

Strange that you should mention O’Dwyer. His victim was a primary school SNA in Ballybrack, where Hennessy grew up.

He looks a little unhinged there… They’re laughing at me kind of way. Looks fairly plastered too. Christ is that after or just a random night?

its interesting these cases and @farmerinthecity’s post above about whether people who commit such horrific acts are insane in that they dont know what they are doing or are just evil
i mean we cant make a call on this lad yet, if he was found to be “very sick” or “mentally very ill” would people suddenly change their tune
what about that sick fucker in cavan Haugh or what not suddenly decided to murder his own family? i remember at the time it was never stated in the press he was a murderer, here was a fucker who went on a killing spree in his own home and all because he lost a few bets or was caught with kiddie porn or something, who the fuck knows, but the inquest stated unlawful killing not murder, all this bluster about him been a pillar of society, the man was a mass murderer who executed a cunning plan in his own home, but the mental illness card was played,
i wonder will it happen with this fella, maybe he is a psychopath or a paranoid schizophrenic of some sort, in that case then are we saying this wasnt his fault as he just had a melt down

i suppose when you think of these lads who get up to this shit, Larry Murphy could i suppose be evil, as far as im aware he is 100% menatally sound and just did his time after a few rapes and is off out again, you’d think if he really was evil he would reoffend as spending a few years in a cell would hardly reform you

i know of 2 cases at home where fellas killed their kids, Mrs and then themselves , they were both said to be mentally ill not muderers, are they any different to this fella? im not so sure

The first thing I thought of from the video of him buying the car was that he was a bit simple, probably not technically disabled in this regard but somebody of very low intelligence.

Has he a Facebook page where we can establish his inevitable far right political leanings and associated imagined victimhood?

It is definitely a fine line. But I think there is a line.

This is where that otherwise useless profession, psychiatry, comes into play. These people spend years studying human behaviour. They should be qualified enough to make the call that someone was carrying on outside of their right mind - i.e. they didn’t know what they were doing was wrong through a definite mental illness. The guy below in Kilkenny who stabbed the girl in the shopping centre with the falconer’s glove on his arm being one. Of course he still has to be locked up.

But for me, if the person had the mental functioning to determine what they were doing was wrong yet still went ahead and did it (this is the classic ‘psychopath’) then they are murderers. Now there is a scale in terms of this, a woman killing an abusive spouse on the one end and Hennessy on the other end and dare I say in rare occasions murder is justified completely. With regard to Hawe, he is clearly a murderer and a mass murderer at that in my view. Murder suicides as a form of mass murder is very common unfortunately so maybe there is something more going on there but I don’t think those who commit such acts should be viewed as being mentally ill when they clear are not.

Hennessy left a note in the car apparently

The sort of lads who, at 39 years of age, get dressed up in their best cheap shirts to go to a shit outer suburban nightclub to have a “fookin’ mad night”. Which they have planned all week.

I think this chap:
i) knew his victim
ii) was in an unhappy marriage
iii) was of below average intelligence - competent, but not very bright
iv) At the same time, had the ability to be very controlling and manipulative of somebody he saw as vulnerable
v) may well have felt without foundation that he was being controlled or manipulated in his everyday personal or professional life
vi) Had substance abuse problems, probably a cocaine user
vii) Is almost certainly not a serial killer

You disgust me.

I didn’t say that but I think you just did.

what’s wrong with putting on a shirt from pennys and heading for a few pints in a suburban niteclub as opposed to say a city center or country niteclub?
i agree its not exactly fucking soho or whatever standards you’re used to but there’s nothing wrong with it either its that’s your local

I think now that perpetrator is dead and there is facial recognition along with videos of him buying a car and on a night out mean that the narrative is violence and abuse towards women. He has been normalised. “apparent family man”, “ordinary” are words I have seen in snippets of news.If we didnt know who he was the question then is he a possible serial killer. Evil, sadistic, monster. The language would be different. The reality is that being insane or mentally unwell and killing some innocent random person are not mutually exclusive.
