Hoolahan must have one of the best match to man of the match award ratios in international football at present
And one of the worst ratio of MOTM awards to starting the following game
due to his fanboys in the media
Dunphy said he played well vs France ffs
There was a decent point made regarding O’Neill and liking physically imposing centre-halves, and I do see why he likes Duffy but he’s making too many errors to continue to carry him at the moment. Hopefully his time will come. I’m not 100% sure about Clark either, the amount of times he slices the ball backwards or just misjudges the ball can’t be a coincidence. In fairness, he was good last night and solid against Georgia too.
Randolph starting to worry me a bit too, but Westwood won’t be brought in, I don’t think MON fancies him. I’d bring Keogh or O’Shea in to just bring a bit of organisation to the back 4.
MacMillan & Kilduff aren’t good enough. I don’t think Rooney is either, but just because they play for Dundalk doesn’t mean they are the best strikers in the league. I get what you’re saying about the higher level, but it’s only been 2 or 3 games so far and it’s hard to judge what level the Europa League is really at. Hoban was better for Dundalk than either and he’s now playing for Mansfield in League 2. Fagan is probably the best striker in the League of Ireland, although his all-round game is lacking; while Maguire is probably the one who will go the furthest and if I was to call up a LoI striker, it would be him. The likes of Stokes or Sheridan are better footballers than Kilduff/MacMillan and I don’t think either of them are the answer either. If you’re looking for a target man type, I don’t know who’d turn to.
I would call Horgan up though, class act and better to get him in now while he’s in form and sharp rather than when he goes to England (he probably will) and is sitting on the bench somewhere. I think Towell could have made a big impact at the height of last season but he must be way off the pace now, even if he does have the talent. Sometimes you have to get a break too.
Dunphy was on Game On earlier and expressed his disgust at ONeill’s treatment of Tony(!), Wes and Josh. He said Wes would get in the French team.
Josh?
O’Shea I’d imagine
See, Sadlier would never be able to pull off that level of bombast.
Ah right.
Tony is Pilkington presumably; is he not injured anyway? When is Judge back, looked good last season.
Tony O’Donoghue!
Jesus Christ, that’s worse again.
Jesus ; is tonight an amnesty for fruitcakes on RTE . Utter bananas , thank fcuk I went to the pub tonight .
