I come from a community where crime is extremely rare, mate, so, unlike yourself, I don’t have a rehearsed line of conversation for such circumstances.

I think the last time I had a conversation with somebody who had had their back door smashed in was probably with my mother after I accidentally kicked a football through the back door window of the family home in 1991.

I can’t remember what I said at the time.
