More Things That Are Wrong, just plain wrong

The real boom was from the late 90ā€™s to about 03 due to exports etc after that we were more less in a property bubble pal.

Living off stamp duty to run the country, it was nuts.

It would be proactive by the government to provide grants & allowances for new buyers for older existing properties, but I doubt that would solve the supply problem in Dublin or any of the urban centres. We over built for a number of years but the lack of units since 07 is going to bite very soon unless @Bad_winner is right.

Death penalty would be too good for that so called man. By all accounts the allegations are true. Fucking scumbag.

Hope justice is served.

@KinvarasPassion how did ye leave a lad lying dead in a crashed car for days in the middle of a roundabout up there?

Car was buried in the bushes opposite the roundabout apparently

The Independent have it that it was in the middle of the roundabout for days. Was thinking to myself, must be some roundabout

Might have been one near the Clinic so, that roundabout has a load of vegetation growing on the middle of it

No idea mate, I drove past it twice a day most days this week.

This is the roundabout, but the vegetation has grown significantly higher since.

It was a passenger in a double decker bus that spotted the car.

Take the bitch to the PRTB. The fucking hassle alone might get her to pull her horns in.

@Brimmer_Bradley - thatā€™s just an expression. Unless @glasagusban confirms that his landlady has a horn.

Any partially built houses out your way Harry? Some good value with them - avoiding site and planning costs as a minimum, and potentially getting in for 50 - 100k less than youā€™d build it for.

Old people holding the banks to ransom. Despicable behaviour from this cohort of people. They really need to become more tech savvy.

Could you not set up a thread to teach them?
Anyone in TTKā€™s syndicate should be able to advise on bank withdrawals.

We do our own thing. Cash, as ever is King. Softcocks fannying about with debit cards pissing about buying a few goods with their plastic wealth are symptomatic of the state of the nation.
Fuck all you can do when a bargain comes up at an auction lets say.
Or the ā€œback of a lorryā€ moment.

itā€™s great. anytime I have to go into the bank to go about my business, I quickly go to one of the self serve lodgement machines whilst all the goons queue up like idiots to ask the cashier what their pin number is as they lost the little piece of paper with it on it out of their handbag.

I worked as a bank teller for the summer many moons ago and a fella (not that old) came in and said heā€™d lost his bank card and was worried someone else would use it. You should be fine, says I, he canā€™t do much without the pin. Thatā€™s the problem he says Iā€™d the pin written on the back of it.

Apparently banks have a policy now where they are not allowed to help people any more. Like if old wans have no docket filled out they canā€™t do it for them. Stupid fucking tellers donā€™t even know they are doing themselves out of a job.

The tellers are being monitored on close circuit TV. And they are getting targets for new business, selling life insurance etc Not a pleasant place to work anymore I believe.

Being a teller was always shit. Old wans and complaints thatā€™s all youā€™d ever get

Once it transpired that nobody in the banks knew what the fuck they were doing what was the point of asking a teller for help.

I did quite a lot of work with BOI with regards to the installation of the machines and the new layout of the banks. The banks are pretty much laid out now so that the first thing you see are the self service machines, and that the teller counter is not visible when you go in. A lot of the time when we were going in on an initial visit to look at the work we had to go incognito, no drawings or no discussions about impending work as we were essentially grim reapers that once these machines went in, people were losing their jobs. there was a serious investment in the refurbishment works, youā€™d wonder would it be worth it in the long run, but by all accounts it was all troica driven.

I had to actually go into the bank (as in to the counter) recently for the first time in years bar fx or whatever, a fucking horrendous experience. The staff donā€™t even know how to do basic things any more. I asked him for two drafts and it took over 20 minutes. All the while the queue was building up behind me as he was the only one on.
I think they have to deliberately work slowly now. Two people outside the counter then wind milling around asking people to use the machines.
