Most Overrated Place to live in Ireland

I’d say Tramore is as good a place as any to live in Ireland. Beautiful beach, fantastic walks, lovely swimming spots, great culinary scene, great bus links ( thanks Marc O Cathasaigh of the Green Party). No rugby team. Very good schools.

I had a good friend who once asked a question no one could answer, do you know anyone who’s actually from Castletroy and isnt a gomie.

All other areas you listed are the finest

No proper hurling team either is a let down.

I always thought from a little distance it had a reputation as a rough town

Arthur Maynes in Donnybrook is ok but every other pub in there and Ballsbridge is shit. The Horseshow House is like a teenage disco at the weekend. Literally 15 and 16 year olds in there.

Mad with all the money around there, they dont have a proper pub.

I was never in Kielys but at least it was something.

A soccer and Gaelic football town.

A corner of it still attracts Dubs to the slot machines, but that is easily avoided

Those slots are an awful blight on a town, great for the few that own them, usually FF councillors like in Bundoran and Buncrana.

That soccer club have some set up

Great set up. They have that for years.

Freddie Piper has them in Tramore. Sold his house at the Guillomene for €2.5m recently.

Only pocket money for a big slot operator. Could say a few more things about the slots, but dont want to derail the thread.
